I don't know if I should quit my job and aim higher?

Okay so in life things happen to where you real fast you learn fast you conquer and you want more I can see it just in your words that you're going to be going places but don't just quit your job or anything work your way up the ladder
That job gave you confidence to give you skills now you take those someplace else just one step in front of the other but as I read your words and I look at your picture I'm pretty sure you can do anything you want to do
What kind of other things are you interested in besides riding horses LOL I'm just teasing on that part.
But no don't quit your job until you have something else going that just put you back a little bit further you always want to be ahead
Do you work in the mall or are there other stores around you you can go into those and talk to the managers in there and say hey I'm looking for a better job I don't just quit whatever you do I don't see you being a quitter anyway
Some say every journey starts with one small step & as for you if you’re thinking about starting a new journey come up with a plan before doing so. On the job front I always tell people if you are going to leave a job just make sure you have another job in hand.
As for you currently you’re a retail manager & when it comes to management if you have management experience you can go anywhere and manage anything within reason & it doesn’t have to be in retail if you don’t want it to be.
Find a job that is hourly & not salary because unless it pays well if you are salary you get screwed after 40 hours when you don’t make overtime.
In life the only way to move is forward & if you are not happy with your current situation change it.
The best question is... what do you want to be doing.
Nothing wrong with retail management. I've been told that store managers for a Walmart and other big box stores have salaries and bonuses that are well into the 6 figures.
Getting there takes time and takes work, but, the point is that you can make pretty good money in retail management if that's what you want. A lot of retailers believe in promoting from within their company rather than hiring managers from outside.
I don't see being a manager as being low on the totem pole, unless you were a manager at McDonald's or something. Most people in your position down go downhill, they go up, as long as they do a good job. The one thing you don't want is to be an asshole in order to get ahead. Don't lose your integrity to money, like most do.
It's great that you're reflecting on your career path. At 22, you have much time to explore and find where your passion lies. Consider what aspects of your current role you enjoy and what you aspire to achieve. Would additional education or skills enhance your career prospects? Exploring different industries or furthering your education could open new opportunities. Perhaps start by setting short-term goals aligned with your long-term vision. Networking or seeking mentorship can also provide valuable insights. Your potential is vast, and thoughtful exploration can lead to fulfilling paths.

I don't know what you really do as a retail manager but it does seem you have peaked at 22. Given the photo you have chosen I'd guess in fashion maybe.
You have another 40 years working so it is important to chose a career you can have passion in. I think your first task is to work out where that might lie and to then move towards that goal.
You are young enough to do qualifications towards a field but don't do some course for the sake of doing it. If my guess is right and you do work in fashion than you might be able to leverage your experience towards something higher in that field.
Don't quit then look for higher. Look for higher than quit to achieve it once you know where you are aiming.
I started in Retail and became manager of a big store , I think its really good general experience to have , I wouldn't quit , I'd be looking while still working thats what I did..
From there I got a Sales representative job with company car , and all progressed from there , so it was good experience , get your resume up to date and pursue all contacts , dont forget Linked - in.
You are still young so you have options. When you are married and have responsibilities it will be much harder. Retail is a tough business that is known for long hours and crappy pay. Eventually all the retail stores will be gone and everyone will order their stuff on line.
Here's a tip. Imagine all your bills are permanently paid and you have all you desire what would you be doing if money isn't a concern for you at all?
Whatever your answer is that is your purpose and passion in life and you must go after it til you get there.
I don’t see anything wrong with being a retail manager. Especially if you didn’t go to school for anything specific.
you have to have a vision and at least a rough plan before you quit your job
Bro I've worked retail for 5 years, never will be a manager at my place because I dont want to but also cause I dont kiss ass. Retail has a way of sucking the life out of you. I was ready to leave 3 years ago. You should always be looking for something better. Think of these jobs as stepping stones
Well finding something you’re passionate about is important I will say keep your job until you have something else.
I don’t know what it is that you’re really passionate about.
What’s the picture have to do with the question?
Nothing in particular, just to boost engagement
Don't quit yet. Get a better job or job you like more and then quit. I know the feeling of retail holiday burnout. Hang in there and wait till the dumb Christmas music stops playing in a couple days haha
Target sucks, aim higher. If you’re still in college it’s fine but if you’re planning on developing a career through work experience get into banking or law. It pays better and it’s less childish.
@Staximus yes very true butttttt you’ll make good money and have access to more successful people which will then encourage you to work on your life…. Also you’ll learn life adult skills like trusts, savings, any laws are good info to know.
What do you want to do? Make a decision, make a plan, then quit your job if necessary to execute your plan.
Aim higher but don't quit until something is happening
I mean I'm self-employed but I started out when I was 8 and I'd say it's only really start to come great in the pandemic
so stay in your job and save and wait till you know
Quitters never go higher.
Work something "better" out first, and then quit.
what do you realisticly hope to get out of "aiming higher" and what's the downsides of doing so?
do you not have passions, ambitions, goals? you need to sit down and think about where you see yourself in 10 years and then go from there
Don't quit your job until you find something better.
If you quit your job before you have a new goal or any skills, education or training, you're just going to end up in something worse.
Yes quit your job and give a chance to someone else who will appreciate being in employment,,,
Have you been to college? Or grad school if you have?
Don't quit your current job till you have something lined up.
Don't quit until you have another job lined up.
do the Onlyfans
you'll make good money
what that pic got to do with it
Its all chillin, gotta climb that corporate ladder
Do you have any passions?
What does life want out of you?
Never quit until you got your next gig queued up.
you're kinda good looking. try to find a husband
Only after you find the right job for you.
Damn you're gorgeous... always aim higher
