15 of My Favorite Love Songs

Another 15 of my favorite love songs

THIS IS NOT A TOP 15 SONG LIST (but it will be numbered by request)

Let’s start off by saying that my last list kind of failed a little bit with the dead pool song

1. Angel Of The Morning- Juice Newton (1968)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

“by the way, Angel Of The Morning is a definite f**k him and leave him one night stand song, and not to be confused with a real love song. Know the difference! “

I always remembered singing to this song and going oh that’s such a sweet song of innocence and it’s about a girl that’s an angel….well not exactly but that's my brain enjoyed the music more than the lyrics and this call out kind of helped me go whoa! That’s a booty call! I guess you can still call it love in some form, right? Lol

Let’s try again with another deadpool song from deadpool 2

1. All out of love- Air Supply (1980)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

Now it’s a love song but it’s about being out of love…. But still a love song

“I want you to come back and carry me home
Away from this long lonely nights
I'm reaching for you, are you feeling it too
Does the feeling seem oh so right
And what would you say if I called on you now
And said that I can't hold on
There's no easy way, it gets harder each day
Please love me or I'll be gone, I'll be gone”

It's a yearning, a heart pain, truth, honesty, it is love in its purest form. This is what love does, it makes you into a better person and helps you to know your faults. I would not be surprised if this confession did not win her back. Honesty and sorry about are some of the best things to have in a relationship. Taking ownership for your faults is HUGE!! And I think it is a great theme for any and all relationships. So this song should be something for guys and girls to be pay attention to. You need to be in a place of connection in your relationship two puzzle pieces that when they come apart it does not seem right anyone and you are lost. Not all relationships would be like this but having a strong connection with each other will make you closer. It does hurt a lot but that’s because you love a lot. I think some may feel that you should never fall too deeply in love but I think deep love shows the other how much you love them and if they don’t feel the same and then it was not right in the first place but I think that any girl or guy that feels this type of passion can’t help but go weak wanting them back. I think that while this practice is painful with a breakup I argue that if the break up does not happen it is a stronger relationship for it.

But that’s my take, I honestly would like to hear some comments on this.

2 Kiss The Girl- Samuel E. Wright (1989)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

So here's a Disney song and we will finish with a Disney song. And yes that’s from the Little Mermaid! But it is still a great love song! The magic here is not the crab, or the scene, it s Samuel E Wright! He made this song come to life!

“There you see her
Sitting there across the way
She don't got a lot to say
But there's something about her
And you don't know why
But you're dying to try
You wanna kiss girl
Yes, you want her
Look at her, you know you do
It's possible she wants you too
There's one way to ask her
It don't take a word, not a single word
Go on and kiss the girl, kiss the girl”
“Ain't that sad
It's such a shame, too bad
You're gonna miss the girl
Go on and kiss the girl, kiss the girl
Now's your moment
Floating in a blue lagoon
Boy, you better do it soon
The time will be better
She don't say a word
And she won't say a word
Until you kiss that girl, kiss the girl”

It’s a simple and sweet song. It’s innocent and reminds you of when love was not so complicated. It almost reminds of a first date. When you did not have to think about all these complicated love issues and all you were worried about is to have the guts to do it, past all of your shyness.

3. Still the One- Orleans (1976)

Include a caption for your image…

Include a caption for your image…

This is an upbeat song and I have trouble finding it. It is such a sweet little gem. It’s about old love that never dies. Such an inspiration!

“We've been together since way back when
Sometimes I never want to see you again
But I want you to know, after all these years
You're still the one I want whisperin' in my ear
You're still the one -- I want to talk to in bed
Still the one -- that turns my head
We're still having fun, and you're still the one
I looked at your face every day
But I never saw it 'til I went away
When winter came, I just wanted to go (wanted to go)
Deep in the desert, I longed for the snow
You're still the one -- that makes me laugh
Still the one -- that's my better half
We're still having fun, and you're still the one
You're still the one -- that makes me strong
Still the one -- I want to take along
We're still having fun, and you're still the one (yes you are)
Changing, our love is going gold
Even though we grow old, it grows new”

It makes you go awww… it’s so sweet and such an owe to couples that have stuck through the good times and the bad. I take pride one day in saying to my wife “You're still the one -- that makes me laugh that's my better half We're still having fun, and you're still the one that makes me strong
That I want to take along We're still having fun, and you're still the one “

4. Cherish- Kool & The Gang (1984)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

So this is one that for me is all about hearing it on the radio not knowing what it is and then hearing this

“Cherish the love we have
We should cherish the life we live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love
Cherish the love we have
For as long as we both shall live
Cherish the love
Cherish the life
Cherish the love”

Then I go oh! Love this song!! And I start singing the chorus and try to stumble through the other lyrics, lol. But these are the same guys that did celebration right? I think it’s the harmony that makes it soooo good! If you are riding with me and this comes on the radio you will probably have to endure my broken excuse for singing voice singing the chorus, unless you are singing with me. :)

5. Wedding Bell Blues- The Fifth Dimension (1969)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

Or as I know it!

“Bill I love you so
I always will
and in your voice I hear
a choir of carousels
Oh but am I ever gonna hear
my wedding bells?
I was the one came runnin'
when you were lonely
I haven't lived one day
not loving you only
but kisses and love won't carry me
till you marry me Bill”

I never knew it was specifically about a wedding before but that voice is so catchy and the song is so upbeat and fun. I find myself getting lost in my female self wanting bill “Bill I love you so I always will..but am I ever gonna hear my wedding bells?” I guess it’s a girl seeking her boy but it is still love song. And an ode to any man named bill!

6. Working My Way Back To You- The Spinners (1980)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

Full credit goes to the original four seasons version (1966) but this is still my favorite! Oh, this one is so catchy! When I turn it on, I can’t stop listening to it. I am sucked in and don’t want it stop! It’s feels like I am a ride so something… This would be so much fun to dance to in person! Such a great song and such a great love song! And it’s a break up song lol!!!

“When you were so in love with me, I played around like I was free
Thought I could have my cake and eat it too, but how I cried over losin' you
See me down and out, but I ain't about to go living my life without you
For every day I made you cry
I'll pay and girl, till the day that I die
I'll keep working my way back to you, babe, with a burning love inside
Yeah, I'm working my way back to you, babe, and the happiness that died
I let it get away”

But I dare you to not feel good listening to it.

7. September- Earth Wind & Fire

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

Another catchy song and you would not think about love at first but…

“Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing
As we danced in the night
Remember how the stars stole the night away”
“My thoughts are with you
Holding hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love
Remember how we knew love was here to stay
Now December found the love that we shared in September
Only blue talk and love
Remember the true love we share today”

Yes, those are the lyrics and it is clearly a love song but it is one that make everybody toe tapping when they hear it! So much fun! And this was featured in a movie Get over it! With Sisco and a young kirsten dunst! It was also featured in a watchmojo list as if i remember correctly “songs that will always make you smile” But we all know it from these lyrics

“Do you remember the 21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away”
“Hey hey hey
Ba de ya, say do you remember
Ba de ya, dancing in September
Ba de ya, never was a cloudy day”

8. All for Love- Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart, Sting (1993)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

This is such a great mashup! They complement each other very well. I remember it from the three musketeers movie which was really good too! But it is such a great love ballad!

9. Happy Together - Turtles (1967)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

This is another great upbeat song! But it is about those vocals! I can’t explain it but I get lost in them….

“Imagine me and you, I do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you love and hold her tight
So happy together
If I should call you up, invest a dime
And you say you belong to me and ease my mind
Imagine how the world could be, so very fine
So happy together”
But it’s know for that upbeat chorus where the instruments and fellow members chime in!
“I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue
For all my life
Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together”

10. Crazy in Love- Beyoncé - ft. JAY Z (2003)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

Hey it’s a new “er” one! I really want two videos for the bottom so I am going to stick with a picture on this one but the video itself is kind of interesting. I always thought it was more epic but it starts out in the streets which is kind of fun. I think it does have an epic finish if I remember right though.. But this song really gets me going and chanting with the lyrics. So good, the beat is so much fun and the vocals just make you get lost in it. Thanks “B”!

11. Reach Out I´ll Be There- The Four Tops (1967)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

This is a Motown classic! I just feel it deep down in my soul when I sing it. I guess that’s why they call it soul music… but it is almost shouted and it makes me want to shout it out too!

“I'll be there, with a love that will shelter you.
I'll be there, with a love that will see you through.
I'll be there to always see you through.
When you feel lost and about to give up
'Cause your best just ain't good enough
And you feel the world has grown cold,
And you're drifting out all on your own,
And you need a hand to hold:
Darling, reach out (come on girl, reach out for me)
Reach out (reach out for me.)”

It just makes you feel like, this is what I want to be for my girl! I want her to know this! I want to be her confidence when she has none and her support when she need it!

12. (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher And Higher- Howard Huntsberry (1989)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

This really goes to Jackie Wilson (1967) but Howard Huntsberry is the version I know. Why? Because it was in Ghostbuster 2 and represented all the good of New York City such an uplifting song figuratively and literally and one scene and song I will never forget! start video about a minute in, its worth watching for the full experience

"I'm so glad, I've finally found you
Yes that one, in a million girls
And I whip, my loving arms around you
I can stand up, and face the world
Let me tell ya, your love (your love keeps lifting me)
Keep on lifting (love keeps lifting me)
Higher (lifting me)
Higher and higher (higher)
I said your love (your love keeps lifting me)
Keep on (love keeps lifting me)
Lifting me (lifting me)
Higher and higher (higher)"

13. Shower The People- James Taylor (1976)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

This is a different type of love song! It is a love song about all the people you care about in life and not just your SO! Show all the that you know that you love them. I think love goes to all people, friends, family, people on the bus, at the store, and all you fellow gaggers! Shower the love!

“You can play the game and you can act out the part
Though you know it wasn't written for you
But tell me, how can you stand there with your broken heart?
Ashamed of playing the fool One thing can lead to another
It doesn't take any sacrifice”

“If it feels nice, don't think twice

Just shower the people you love with love
Show them the way that you feel
Things are going to work out fine if you only will
Shower the people you love with love
Show them the way you feel
Things are going to be much better if you only will”

Bring the love gaggers, bring the love!

14. Can you feel the love tonight - Nathan Lane, Joseph Williams, Ernie Sabella, Sally Dworsky, Kristle Edwards (1994)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

How about ending with another Disney song but I am sorry Elton, this one goes to the movie. It is less of a radio love song but more of a love anthem! If you were take it and redo it, do it from this version. Bring in a choir and a sweet sounding lady preferably from Africa lol.

Who can say no to these lyrics!

“So many things to tell her
But how to make her see
The truth about my past, impossible
She'd turn away from me
He's holding back, he's hiding
But what, I can't decide
Why won't he be the king I know he is?
The king I see inside?
Can you feel the love tonight?
The peace the evening brings
The world, for once, in perfect harmony
With all its living things
Can you feel the love tonight?
You needn't look too far
Stealing through the night's uncertainties
Love is where they are”

And let me add that Elton

cuts out Timon and Pumba’s lyrics! You need those!

Lastly are two that counts as one, I just found them recently in the moment and I kind of like them but are catchy. I don’t have anything to say yet but the videos are amazing! They are not top top favorites but they are growing me.

15. You Belong With Me- Taylor Swift (2008)

This fun video about the girl next door and about the girl that is always overlooked...

“If you can see I'm the one who understands you
Been here all along so why can't you see
You belong with me
You belong with me”

Sugar- Maroon 5 (2014)

It is so cool to see the wedding crashes!

“Your sugar
Yes, please
Won't you come and put it down on me
I'm right here, 'cause I need
Little love and little sympathy
Yeah you show me good loving
Make it alright
Need a little sweetness in my life
Your sugar
Yes, please
Won't you come and put it down on me”

Update: I was working on this most of the day and I heard this song on the radio and I'm like Yeah!!! That!! That!!! Too!!!

BONUS: Foolish Heart- Steve Perry (from Journey) (1984)

Yet another 15 of my favorite love songs

"I need a love that grows
I don't want it unless I know
That each passing hour
Someone somehow
Will be there, ready to share...

I need a love that's strong
I'm so tired of being alone
But will my lonely heart play the part
Of the fool again
Before I begin

Foolish heart, hear me calling
Stop before you start falling
Foolish heart, heed my warning
You've been wrong before
Don't be wrong anymore"
