Farewell to The Bandit. Burt Reynolds (1936-2018)

Burt Reynolds was truly the alpha male of the 70's and 80's. From his time on the Gridiron at Florida State and his beginnings on TV westerns such as Gunsmoke to his roles in Deliverance, The Longest Yard, Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas ( with Dolly Parton), and Boogie Nights he truly shown as a bright star.

Burt Reynolds will truly be missed. Here is a funny moment to remember him from a 1991 Golden Girls episode.

There was a story he told about filming Deliverance.

When they were filming the sequence where they are washed down the waterfall, the stuntman refused to do it because of the danger. So they used a dummy, and the director complained that it looked like a dummy going down a waterfall. So Reynolds offered to do it, and took quite a beating. As he recovered, he asked the director how it looked. The response: Like a dummy going over a waterfall.

And after that first sentence I bet those who have seen the movie thought it would be something about that Ned Beatty scene...

Since i was a kid, i used to watch his movies, i liked his movies were he had a mustache, a truly real man, funny and also good...

May he RIP and he will truly be missed, when i saw his current pictures, i couldn't believe that this is burt reynolds, old with gray hair and i just don't know...

His old figure is stuck in my mind and can't see him different...

I hope that there still actors like him these days...
I used to mix between burt reynolds and sean connery when i was a kid 🙂

There was a movie for burt reynolds that i kept watching again and again and i forgot it's name, all i remember is that he was wearing a racing costume, maybe he was a racer or a something like that, i like this movie a lot but forgot the name...

He shall be given a "shit did he die?" and for a moment it will make me realise my own mortality and that my time, like his will be coming to an end sooner than I would probably be thinking.
Then I will forget about it again.

He did quite a bit in football until his knee injury but did make some good movies later on. He was living in the house on Jupiter island in Florida and was in poor health for quite awhile, the owner let him stay there for free until his remaining days

Yeah. In his later years he revealed that he was absolutely broken-hearted over losing Sally Field. He said it was his own fault and he called her the love of his life. Apparently he carried a torch for her all these years. A person really can die of long-term sadness over something like this. It can manifest as a heart attack. Emotions really do affect our health.
