So I saw the new snow white movie and honestly….. it wasn’t that bad.

Yes I have heard of the controversy about this film. But quite frankly, it wasn’t a bad movie. It wasn’t great, but it was good for what it was.

Many people criticized the role of Snow White being casted to a Latina actress Rachel Ziegler, however I feel like she did a fine job, and Gal Gadot was a fine queen. I did like the change in storyline that it wasn’t actually a Prince Charming who awoken her but a rebel bandit . The Dwarves were actually the best part of the movie (spoiler alert: Dopey actually talks in this version). The songs were actually good.

I only have 2. nitpicks at the movie.
1. There really wasn’t a whole lot of screen time with the dwarves I didn’t think, but this version was more about Snow White than the animated version was.

2. Not a whole lot of comedic moments. Like there’s not really even a lot of light comedy in this version, it is kinda a darker tone than the animated version.

overall I give it 3/5….. it’s not as bad as critics and reviewers wanna make out like it is, but it’s still not as charming as the animated version. But… it’s good for what it is, it’s a different adaptation.

Tbh' i didn't watch but i read the reviews... the "stuff it claimed to fix" it didn't fix! or made worse. It added the silly communism ideas that failed in china in 1950s.

The only redeeming quality was the "queen most beautiful of all" until snow white, they picked a pretty actress #gadot. But all the rest... She still got kissed by a guy while she was "ruffeed" as they say. The film did not "include " actors of... i forget the p. c. word for adults the size of children, but NOT INCLUSIVE those actors.

The choice of zegler with a face blemish is not for actors. Similarly i don't wanna see de niro with his face blemish. When she made annoying statements online, disney should have said "you have free speech but you can't work with us " same as roseann barr got fired for a tweet!

Finally, they could revive The original snow white legend grimm, had her shook awake, not a sleep kiss but they did not revive that. all AFTER whining "a lady does not need a man to save her" nor should "he kiss while she is asleep".

“Wasn’t that bad” when it’s a Disney movie with a budget of millions means it’s a dogshit film with a higher production value


Besides the hate this movie is getting has leas to do with the details of the movie itself and more to do with what this movie represents in terms of all the flat and uninspired creative choices Disney has been making for years now

snoe white had a very soft trembly tone to sing that sounded very very old from way back in the day type of style.

there are many latinas that do have skin white as snow and that have soft voices and that are not retarded saying they don’t want to clean or cook or offended by real little people. If they wanted to cast a Latina they could have chose one that looks the part at the very least.

for playing Elsa from snow, if they wanted to cast a Latina for it.

and in reality it shouldn’t even be about that, if they look the role and can play the part they should be casted regardless of where they are from.
in this case the Latina did not look the part and what’s worse they made her look like lord Farquhad that’s so weird. And again I really hated the singing because she tries so hard to sound like Elsa. What a loser she is. If she wanted to play that she should have refused the role and applied to play in other movies hay call for that tone.

Haven't seen it but never have been a Snow White fan anyway. But I think all the hate for the Latina who played her is really overkill. It's not that serious. Everybody wants to call any little non-white twist "woke" in a movie or TV show nowadays. Some of it is ridiculous - like black Hobbits in The Lord of the Rings show, but in other instances it's really not that big a deal.

Honestly, I don't see how anyone could actually think it was anywhere close to the standard of Disney films of the past, especially when you consider what it cost to produce. Pathetic is the word that comes to my mind.

My girlfriend and I took her 9 year old niece to see it last weekend. It was so bad we walked out half way through, and it was her niece who suggested leaving.
