Are you happy with the news that Scarlett Johansson is to play Tiana in Disney's live-action remake of 'The Princess and the Frog'?

Talking to a magazine, Johansson stated:

"You know, as an actor, I should be allowed to play any person, or any tree, or any animal because that is my job and the requirements of my job.”

Johansson had recently received criticism for playing the lead in 'Ghost in the Shell' and for being offered the role of a trans character in "Rub & Tug".

She went on to say:

“I feel like it’s a trend in my business and it needs to happen for various social reasons. Yet there are times it does get uncomfortable when it affects the art because I feel art should be free of restrictions.”

Now, it seems that Johansson is standing against political correctness and double standards within the movie industry as she is apparently taking up the role of "Tiana" in the live-action remake of 'The Princess and the Frog'. Some have accused Disney of "balancing the scales" after the recent announcement that Halle Baily would be taking the role of Ariel in 'The Little Mermaid'.

What are your thoughts? Are you happy to see Scarlett Johansson take on the role of Tiana?

I'm not really a fan of changing the general appearance of characters, because I'm kind of a big canon person. That being said, I'm happy for Scarlett and I'm glad that she's not kowtowing to the "woke" mob.

So there is a minority privilege otherwise they would never get casted
