- Camp and also use the most broken (overpowered) weapons, perks and equipment in the game
- Slide cancel spam because they are wimps who are scared of good old fashion gun fights so they abuse the unrealistic stamina system and movement mechanics in the game.
- Strafe spam because they have horrible precision and reflexes so they abuse the unrealistic health system and unrealistic movement mechanics in the game
- Do all of the above
A Sweaty Tryhard for me is someone who takes the game objectives seriously and is actively and competatively trying to win by:
- Planning ahead & think a few steps further.
- Actively adapts strategies in-game to the opposition based on the present situation.
- Has patience to wait/hide if that is the best move/option.
- Researching the best known tactics.
- At a minimum, is aware of the current meta either to follow or exploit.
- Reads up on game-mechanics and bugs to exploit for advantages.
- Plays mindgames with other players to confuse, distract or escalate their behavior.
- Practise becoming better outside of just playing the game.
- Don't goof around with friends in games as much but gets the job done first 90% of the time.
- Don't play much for the sake of role-playing in competative multiplayer.
- Fun in games for a tryhard is more to overcome challenges and competent opposition rather than goofing, trolling or joking around in chat. An hard-earned victory is the best feeling.
To counter your points:
● Moving around in unpredictable ways can be effective but it's so common that saying it's tryhard is overdoing it.
● Camping in itself isn't really tryhard on it's own but can be a tactic that is used by a tryhard if it works well.
● A tryhard understands that different games ARE games and that they work differently but not super different. A lot of skills do carry over between games even when they are vastly different and tryhards knows that before they get good at it they move through a learning-process. They are mostly okay with failing and hardship in games, it's part of the fun.
● Of course players in general (not only tryhards) are going to use the tools they have been given to win. Like using the unrealistic movement- and stamina-system that don't even use real muscles to propel the person forward and stuff😅.
You can't expect any less from average players in general. I can understand your frustration if you don't use these tools yourself but try to compensate in other ways.
It's like for example if you where playing chess and you just refuse to move the towers because realisticly towers don't move. Of course you'll be at a disadvantage.
● Disabling chat/spam. It could be both a disadvantage and an advantage and has more to do with knowing the person in question and what they want out of the game than it has to do with lacking gunplay (not sure I follow your logic).
The contents of the chat or voice-channels could be:
- Tactical information.
- Team-directives to help you play better as a team.
- Insults from hostiles indicating their frustration (which in turn can be used to escalate their rash and ineffective tactics by being mean and troll them in chat. Exploit their emotional state/Psychological warfare). .. and vice versa.
- Insults (non-constructive feedback) from your own team which is just toxic and may or may not affect your own emotional state. This is a great reason to turn off chat because if a game has a toxic community it's far more enjoyable to play when you don't have to hear cries and slurs all day.
- Constructive feedback and great tips on how to improve.
- It could be fun/interesting comments and conversations from friend or foe.
- Group requests/compliments.

I love to sweat at a game.
The problem is the mixing of people. Competitive gamers find the fun in trying hard and overcoming the opponent, but the casuals will do things “for fun” which usually kills the fun for a sweater when the way teammates want to play doesn’t work for them. Meanwhile the casuals will get mad that people don’t play the game their way as well, they get mad that people won’t play in a “fun” way and instead do things that are effective. So things like sniping and camping become unfun for them because it’s not engaging in the way they like.
For me, the answer is things like camping is either A the game is flawed and I should stop playing it, or B git gud. I used to play TF2 on a national level and if your team wanted to try to camp, you could certainly try, but the reason you probably won’t is because it’s not the strongest play. So the “less fun” elements of the game are overcome with adaptation and sweatiness. I think it’s rare that the less fun elements of the game survive competition.
It depends on the game but i would define it as someone who for example uses only things that are thought will do the most damage while ignoring everything else, there's nothing more fun than using something thats not considered meta and actually winning since no one who only played against people who use the most effective stuff dont know how to counter it, league of legends is a good example of this though its a pretty terrible game

When you play every match like your life depended on it.. having majority of the exlusives that all of the casual players do not have.. spending most of your free time on the game.. putting most of your spending money towards the game
If they snort Doritos dust and inject their bodies with gfuel when they game.
as someone who forgets this is a game that's supposed to be fun and makes winning their ultimate goal instead of having fun.
