Today is the day we celebrate all things Star Wars. As per usual, I will be geeking out with friends to a Star Wars marathon.

Thousands of Star Wars enthusiasts celebrate this day each year with parties and celebrations around the nation. If you a fan, then National Star Wars Day allows you to dress like your favorite character, say your favorite lines from the series and catch a movie or read a book.

To my mind, it's first and foremost Saint Florian's day, which I've felt fondly towards ever since the first time I used that information to beat Darklands (invoking Florian lets you walk across water, so I didn't have to go around the strait, and so could reach a witch's gathering in time and stop them from summoning a demon).

Bluntly, I don't see much about modern Star Wars to celebrate. Disney clearly has no idea WHY the franchise caught hold of so many hearts the way it did, and just thinks it's a license to print money, kicking out offering after offering with the skin of Star Wars, but none of the mind, heart, or soul.

... and now I'm feeling all sad. Maybe I'll fire up Rebellion and build until I have a Death Star orbiting every planet in the galaxy. That might make me feel better; it'll at least give me an excuse to cackle maniacally for a while.
