I can get through books more quickly now than before, but it still takes me a while. It just depends on how busy I am.
I once knew a girl who could read an entire novel in a day!

Months, lmfao. I hate reading. I don’t really have the imagination to conjure up a visual to accompany what I’m reading, it’s literally just me processing text. I discovered books on tape the last year or so, though. I do much better with those as they’re sort of “acted” out by the narrator, and different voices are used for different characters. So now I’ve “read” some of the supposed classics, and I find myself wondering why everyone is so pretentious about reading. Like how is it different from me watching a movie? I had a story told to me, I don’t think the form of media makes it more or less enriching. I can appreciate the “the book is usually better than the movie” aspect, but like…. why am I a smarter person for having heard the fictional tales of Oliver Twist or Huckleberry Finn? And specifically in written form over a film adaptation? Like I was entertained, but I didn’t really learn anything, other than the vernacular of the time period. My dad is reading THOUSANDS of pages about Lyndon B. Johnson right now, and I’m just wondering what in the hell any of us need to know so urgently about LBJ that we need to do that. Like that’s a case where I’m like “just make a documentary series I can watch over like six hours, rather than take months of my spare time to learn something about a dead guy has no impact upon my life and never will. I don’t say this to disparage reading or begrudge anyone who enjoys it, but just as a guy who’s had to take some flack from the tweed-jacket-with-suede-elbow-patches crowd for being a dumb jock who doesn’t read (I scored 780 out of 800 on my SAT Verbal, by the way, it’s not like I’m illiterate or have some deficiency in that area by not being a big reader), I do feel kind of both vindicated and retrospectively annoyed, lmao. If you’ve read a million textbooks about science or engineering or something, you win, I can’t fuck with you, but I’m done with feeling inferior for not having read enough novels lmfao.

Sometimes when I'm not too busy it happens to me that I get a click out of nowhere and I just read read and read. One summer I got that click again and read five or six books in two weeks.
Also there are times when I'm not even touching a book. But when I read I'm a fast reader, I'm able to finish a decent book with 2-300 pages in a day. You just need to settle down in mind for that. If the story drags you in, you're not bothered with counting the pages anyways.
Two days if I take the time to properly absorb and invest a lot of that time for the process too. This week has been too hot to do anything. I’ve read three books so far, and counting.
What books have you read this week?
Uh oh… hehe I knew you would ask this.
It’s a series called “ The Chronicles of Nick“
It’s a teen spin-off series to the adult one (Dark Hunters) by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It’s fun to see my fav of her characters make guest appearances through teen character eyes.
I waited just long enough in the adult series to see the parallels formed and mesh. It’s fun. I’m enjoying the journey.
Interesting. I finished reading Brave New World yesterday afternoon and started reading a book called Vladimir, the Russian Viking about an hour or two later. I might try to be bold and start reading The Hunt for Red October simultaneously. Maybe... we'll see...
Oh I have Vlad on my reading list. Let me know if the book “October” is better than the movie. I’ll add BNW.
I skim. I dont read. Its always helped me to pass my tests. I’m a horrible listener, i hate reading more than I have to, and i have a bad memory. But i still aced those tests tho 😂
I prefer word search puzzles. Thats my ish. I can do a puzzle in 5 mins or less

Depends on how good the book is and also how much time have or don't have for reading...
I did once stay up all night and finished it, but it was a really good book
What book was it?
It was actually a series by Janet Evanovich
Don't know who that is. Sorry!
it absolutely depends on the book. If i really like it, a day or less. If im meh about it it could take me a week or more. My record was the Stone of Tears by Terry Goodkind, (984 pages) in 4 hours. This was in 1999 i think lol. A long time ago.
probably two months... my mind always wonders and wanders around, escapes...
and this is exactly why I don't read novels, especially fantasy... my imagination and hyper-active mind won't just let me focus on the actual reading and story
my mind will get me to a dream-like state of mind and start to imagine stories of its own... it can get really wild, and it can be frustrating... lol
Depends. I can read pretty fast, a 2 or 300 page book can be a one day read for me. But if I'm reading to enjoy the story and imagine it, say 50 pages a day.
Now my feading has slowed, it would probably take me all afternoon to read 300 or 400 pages but I'd still do it if I like the book.
Maybe like a week, because if the book is good it's like a series that you can watch at anytime and why wait?
Two weeks if I’m focused with other life stuff going on.
I read pretty fast. I could read a novel in a day if I wasn’t doing anything else.
4-15 hours depending on the length.
Impressive.
I am a fast reader, always was. Lord of the Rings took me a week, with ~3 hours reading per day.
A few days to weeks, depending on how interesting I find the book
I'd say about a week because in middle school I would always have a book with me during lunch and I'd be able to finish it in just a few days
If I am interested I can blow through them pretty quickly. I devoured several Asimov novels per week when I was going through his Foundation Universe.
Depends on the length of the book.
Say...300 pages, like the one I just started reading yesterday.
Usually within 1-2 days. If it doesn't really interest me it could take several weeks in between reading better books.
A month to me lol
Too long, I lose interest after awhile and never finish
