What do you think of movie stars who say they are not interested in being famous?

That they act but they do not look for fame and for them fame is invasive., some say that "Hollywood is like living in a strange bubble, there are a bunch of people who take care fo you and get you things and you are the center of that microscomic little world" .

I also had read from a known A lister male actor who had said in the past that even if fans tell them they like his movies, and he appreciates that, if he is not recognized much better for him and he is a happy clam, he does not believe in fame and he does not like to being that popular, he does his work for the sake of having a job period and earn some salary for the work but not becuse he is seeking fame in the process. This A lister never dreamed of being an actor in fact he would had chosen anotehr career if he could but acting found him, not the other way around. He is a nepo kid but dont enjoy much the Hollywood perks.

So do these actors chose the wrong career? I mean they dont want to be popular, famous and if they could be away from cameras, the pampering and all that stuff the better for them.

Is that a little hypocritical of these movie stars to think that way?

A lot of famous people do it for money. My friend met Celine Dion when he ran a shop she visited on a regular basis. She wore a disguise everywhere she went and nobody had any clue she lived in the area. She did it for the $500,000,000 she got for singing, not because she wanted people to praise her. Most people had know idea who she was when she lived in that area. I knew a guy who was on par with Picasso when it came to his drawing skills and nobody knew he was good at art cause he hid that out of his modesty and his fear of getting attention from others. My cousin scored in the 99.99th percentile on her SAT's under the old marking system and she hid her good grades in front of her friends because she did not want them to feel bad about themselves. She wouldn't even let her boyfriends know how smart she was. She did not want them to feel dumb.

This guy you're talking about he says he'd have preferred another career, etc. If he got into acting when he was younger than he could've easily gotten another career.

But he chose to stay in acting because he likes the simiplicity of the work and the money he can make. Fame goes hand in hand.

So while he "doesn't like fame" he merely says that in answer to questions why he isn't acting like more desperate / pathetic actors / actresses always in the news & usually for unimportant reasons.

It is understandable why they'd hate the fame. To have people constantly trying to find out everything in your life, you're given no privacy and constantly judged for everything you do.

That is what I also agree. But according to this A lister the less he is recognized in the streets the better for him because he likes to keep his anonymity off work.

some actors hate it; i mean why wouldn't you? you have annoying people prying on your life and getting told to off yourself cause you said something dumb that everyone else gets to say, its not as fun as you think. its not worth being 'popular' it is for shallow people and thats okay.

A small minority probably mean it. Tom Selleck is one of them - never really spends much time in the "limelight".
