I asked him if he bought his kids movies or video games and his response is, no, we go fishing and we play musical instruments. I did not agree with him at the time, since I liked movies and tv shows but I notice I’m happier now that I’ve reduced my movie and TV time. My friend is a housewife and she tries to get her kids doing activities so they aren’t in front of the tv all day. They ski or golf mostly every weekend and they also learn musical instruments and go on trips to theme parks.

I disagree with the soldier. Although I do think tv time for children should be regulated. To me after working 2 jobs and volunteering my time I can’t wait to unwind in front of the tv. I think if you sit in front of a news channel you would become depressed but that’s something I never do. Give me a silly horror movie, adventure, thriller or even a love story (but let’s keep that just between us) and my daily troubles are quickly forgotten. I do get plenty of outdoor time and as long as the sun is up my tv is off. These are just my thoughts, I could be wrong.
No, thats not how it works, otherwise 90% of the population would be depressed.
