Kimmel has always been the funniest, and having Guillermo as his sidekick really was a good move. He's also been very diverse and open-minded, like having Shaq host for him for a good minute, plus Kimmel can make everyone laugh who comes on there. For some reason Fallon has always creeped me out and I don't know why. Conan always annoyed me with his hyper behavior, a very old '90s style of comedy that was popular with others like Jim Carrey and Chris Tucker, I guess to get people more excited or something, but really makes you feel exhausted and I'm glad it faded out for the most part.

Colbert has great political jokes but Trevor Noah trumps this man by miles. Letterman never really entertained me, and he often got bad press for saying rude things to or about people. But I can say he tended to have the best music artists perform on his stage, Stone Temple Pilots doing "Unglued" on there around Christmas was a pretty good show. Leno was not too bad although he could be a bit crude. Honestly never really saw much of Johnny Carson, just a few minutes here and there.

That's a hard list to chose from, but in order, I'd probably say: Conan O'Brien, Johnny Carson, Stephen Colbert, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel. With that said, I probably watched Letterman the most over the years.

The first late night talk show I got into was Kimmel, then Fallon came onto the scene and I made the "Jimmy switch". I haven't watched late night shows in years, but I guess I'd consider the two Jimmy's to be my favorite. 😄

Well, when Fallon started out on Late Night, he used to play fun little games and he would interact with the audience a lot and he would have Justin Timberlake on every so often and they would do something fun and that was what kind of drew me in. After he got The Tonight Show, there seemed to be some kind of shift and I don't know if it's because maybe he wasn't allowed to do some of the things that he used to do before he got The Tonight Show, but as a host, he just wasn't as fun anymore. I still watched for years, but yeah, it just didn't have the same feel.

Yeah they try to tone their humor down in an attempt appeal to a wider audience. they tried the same thing with Conan when he briefly got the tonight show in 2009.

Stephen Colbert is extremely good. CBS did right in having him take over from Letterman.

One person you did not list who is probably my favorite was Craig Ferguson.
His Late Late Show was unbelievable and pushed new ground in the talk show venue.
It was an underappreciated gem.
