Out of the early, mid and late 2000s, which do you feel had more inspirational music?

As laid back and careless as the early 2000s was, that music kept me pumped and encouraged independence and easy recovery from heartbreak and so on. Todays music seems more about being dependent, gold diggers, or succumbing to depression. I could be wrong but thats how it sounds to me. The early 2000s had the happy, hype, bubbly-ness that 60s/70/80s/90s songs often had. I’m not saying the music is bad today. I love some of everything and definitely every genre. But it just lost its touch after early 2000s. I don't know.

Today I’m blasting my Destinys Child greatest hits album and gosh I missed this shit. Plus I missed light hearted fun beyonce. She be sounding kinda creepy and depressing in her newer stuff. When i listen to the lyrics of “Soldier”, it reminds me of the type of men I prefer. I don't know why im dating the opposite now 😂 I tried to go for Carltons these days (fake nice guys) but they turn out to just be that way on the outside. Let me go back to the Wills who are at least up front about how they are 😩

I actually find that the mid-late 2010’s had some of the best pop music… like not so much the top 40 segment of pop, but all the alternative, dance and electro-pop crossovers… like Bieber with Skrillex and Diplo… DJ Snake… DJ Mustard… Aluna George… MØ and Major Lazer (Diplo)… like ALL of that type of stuff.

That almost “tropical house/trap” type of sound… it was all over the nightlife scene when I was going out a bunch in central Florida. Lots of similar stuff happening throughout the industry too, in a lesser known capacity… just really “worldly” sounds all coming together in a more organic, contemporary EDM kind of way. It opened my eyes to a lot of great producers.

Man I tell ya… the vibes were high! 😎😅

I gotta go with early 2000s (2000-2006) having the most inspiring music.

That's the era with all the artists you listed - Destiny's Child, Beyonce, NSYNC, Ludacris, Nelly. The beats were so upbeat and catchy and the lyrics talked about having fun, being confident, and just living your best life. It's stuff that still gets me pumped up when I listen to it.

I think some of the mid 2000s songs from like 2007-2009 could still be kinda upbeat too with artists like Chris Brown and classic Pharrell tracks. But once we got into the late 2000s and 2010s, I feel like the music started getting slower and more about relationships. Not that those songs can't be meaningful, but the early 2000s hip hop and pop just had such an energy.

It's like the music nowadays is too raunchy or sad, there's not enough songs about just having a good time. I'll take Beyonce on "Independent Woman" over her new stuff any day. Sometimes you just wanna hear stuff that puts you in a good mood, and the early 2000s was definitely the best era for that I think. I still break out my old iPod nano filled with all those bangers on the reg!

Definitely the early 00s.. I was never a Destiny Child's fan or anything, but even their music sounded good.. I think cooperations sees what's selling on the charts with the sound, aesthetic, production etc, and they follow that tread.. But I do miss the cheesiness of the early thousands.. It was close to the cheese of the 80s..

Once 2000 hit, music went heavy into gangster rap bullshite about gang wars and bragging about "the good life" crap. Which i mever understood why people even gave a shite about it. Instead of protecting their community from opression, they oppress their own people/communities and have gang wars, Then brag about it.
How about the good rap about bringing notice to the problems and downfalls in society? That's why I like rebel/renegade rap.
It was also the boy band era too, but... meh.
During the 2000s i kept to the music i enjoyed evanescence, creed, nickleback, smashmouth, voltaire, the beatles, toad in a wet sprocket, nirvana, queen, rammstein, apololypica, and broadway musicals.

the new stuff is not enjoyable. (2007-2012) had nice stuff, in fact a few tisdale songs about breakups were comforting in her albums 2007 (2006?) and 2009!

tisdale was smart, diversified several different styles of music in album for various fans in her audience.

Mid 2000s. Especially Juice WRLD, I have come around to his music big time. I think he's underrated, he was all time great to me. But I grew up in the era listening to Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Meghan Trainor primarily, and even today, I listen to guys like Jacques, and Nav songs, that came out in the mid 2000s
