He was the lead singer of the band Boston. The "main" guy in the band was Tom Schotz, who was the lead guitarist, organist, and primary songwriter. He was an MIT graduate and he built several of his own custom audio processors, in addition to LOTS of multitracking, to get the thick guitar sound he was after, and eventually released a Sony Walkman-sized processor called the Rockman, which was intended for guitarists to be able to practice at home with the full hard-rock guitar sound. However, the unit was so good - such high quality - that several bands, most notability Def Leppard - used the Rockman as their guitar sound on their records. Def Leppard's Hysteria album is mostly the Rockman on the guitars.

Brad Delp was the lead singer, and he had an incredible voice and was able to get WAY up on the scale while still having full power. Few people can sing these songs and hit all the notes - he had an amazing range.

The original album "Boston" from 1976 is in the top 5 in all-time sales for a debut album, and these songs still get daily airplay on Classic Rock radio.

Boston has, I believe, 5 albums. Tom is something of a perfectionist, so they spent a lot of time making the albums except between the first and second. Sadly, Delp suffered from depression and took his own life about 7 years ago as I recall, but he was a fantastic singer and guitarist.
