I don't want to bias anyone, but my favorite is Yesterday, sung by Paul McCartney.

My dad grew-up less that 30 minutes from Liverpool, one of my grandmother’s friends married a musician who knew them and worked for them at Abby Rd studios as a session musician. So I grew-up on the Beatles music! My grandmother still has her Cavern Club membership card, with the names and dates of all the bands who played there including the Beatles! Asking what a Beatles fans favorite song is, is like asking a parent what their favorite child is! Also… How could you have a poll of Beatles songs, and not include Penny Lane, Eleanor Rigby, Hey Jude, The Long and Winding Road, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, or Get Back? Not to mention Michelle! But I did choose “Yesterday”, and it is def one of my favorites. Also, my Favorite album is Rubber Soul.

@ArrowheadSW Sure, no problem at all, I believe she's 78, I know my dad was born in 1968, and I pretty sure my nan was 22 when she had him, so I think she was born in 1946. I know it was right after the war, because all she talks about growing up was that despite their money, if you didn't have a ration book, or coupon, you couldn't buy it! It didn't matter how MUCH money you had, (well unless you went on the black market! ) But still. Yeah she’s a real badass my nan. She went through a lot with my granddad’s cheating, especially in the ’60’s and 70’s but she was like “screw him, let him have his fun, and I’ll have mine! That was when she bought the villa in Ibiza. She had a dune buggy, and old WWII surplus Land rover, that she had shipped over there and she made her own life! They stayed married, but it was more of a business partnership than a marriage. but she took care of him in the end.

As far as the Cavern Club, I know, it REALLY is amazing to me too, She said that “there were so many great bands back then, and so many great little clubs, we never thought any of them would REALLY become anything, I mean what were the chances?” We don’t exactly talk about it much, there’s just so much other stuff that comes up in life and in conversation. But she asked me to go to her room, and she pulled out an old box, to give me a ring that belonged to her grandmother when I was 13. As she was going through it looking for the ring, she showed me her old drivers license, her old Dk Blue LEATHER British passport (where her name is hand written on the front), Then she said “Oh look, do you know what this is? I said no! and she told me it was her Cavern club membership card. I looked like a 3x5 card folded over in the middle, only a bit smaller. Then on the front it says Cavern Club Member (or something like that)… on the inside it has horizontal and vertical lines that make-up boxes, and the names of the bands, the dates they were playing, and if you went there that night, it was initialed by someone as if to “prove" you were there. I have no idea why they did that, and I didn't ask too many questions. I love my nan, but she is not the most patient woman on earth. She just wanted to give me the ring, so once she found it she closed up the box and locked it back in the draw. She also. Gave me a beautiful sterling silver box from the 1800’s that was her father’s, and her great grandfather's, possibly her great-great grandfathers. She told me to keep them safe, and to make sure I never lost them, especially the ring. She kept saying “you won’t loose it will you?” and I’d say “no, nan. I’ll keep it really safe, I promise you!" and she just said “Oh you're probably just going to lose it!" So I keep the ring in the box, in my old bedroom at my parent's house. Still haven't lost either, by the way! 🙄 😊

@Cute_Miss_Laura Wow thank you for sharing so much about your grandmother. She must have been pretty young when she went to the Cavern Club because the Beatles played there from 1961 to 1963. (I just looked it up... LOL) OK she was a teenager. Amazing bit of history there. Yeah being born in 1946 that area was very much still recovering from World War II.

@ArrowheadSW Yes she was quite the “wild one” especially for MY family! They always act so “proper”, it was nice to get a brief glimpse into the teenager she was. I respect her more now because I know I’m just like her (or at least. I was). I sometimes wish she were wore like my American grandmother, then if she was, she would not be “her.” and since I love her for who she is, I would never want to change her. But thanks again for the interest.

OMG! I am literally in tears! That scene was so beautiful, and yet so sad! What an amazing movie that was! I doubt I’ll see a more original, better written movie (with better music) again in my life! This was our Cleopatra, Star Wars, ET, Raiders, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, and our Titanic… Just a much better soundtrack! It was that once in a generation movie that all generations get.

I'm not sure if it's my all-time favorite, but I might pick "I Saw Her Standing There". The beat, harmonies, Paul's scream, George's guitar lead, are quintessential early Beatles. They were unique.

It is hard to say because there are so many that I like. But what comes to mind the most, right now, is "Penny Lane". The lyrics tell of this street called Penny Lane and what goes on there on a day to day basis, and the music is rather catchy.

I'm gonna shoot you straight, Tom. Never been particularly fond of the Beatles. I always thought they were quite overrated to be honest. That being said, there are a few tunes I like, and if I had to pick out my top 3, they would probably be "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Get Back" and "Magical Mystery Tour"
