Lessons of life from my 86 year old Grandpa

I asked my grandpa for life advice for this my take. After he was done marveling over my iPad and how far technology has come, this is what he said.

1. Thank your farmer.

2. When the men who want to talk about Jesus come to your house, that's a good time to get out the paintball gun.

3. Go somewhere new every year.

4. It isn't enough to know your ancestral roots, live up to them.

5. Be fiercely proud of your childrens and grandchildrens accomplishments

6. Family get togethers over steak and beer, will always be a good idea.

7. Buy the orange properties in Monopoly

8. Give a firm handshake and eye contact when meeting someone

9. Even if you don't like the president, respect him or her.

10. If you're in a fight, hit first.

11. Life isn't simple.

12. Expect all guns to be loaded.

13. When referring to your home team, say "we"

14. Never, ever, ever ask a woman if she's pregnant

15. Don't post pictures of you with booze.

16. Sports are a team effort, adjust yourself accordingly.

17. The movies is the worst date night idea. Pick something original.

18. No one is on their death bed wishing they spent more time at work. Enjoy your life.

19. It's okay to not listen to mainstream music. Music of today, like pop and country is way past dead.

20. It's perfectly acceptable to refer to your pet as your baby.

21. America is already great because we eradicated smallpox. That's good in my book. By 2018, polio is expected to be eradicated.

22. Sleep in every once in a while.

23. Also go to bed early.

24. When you're overwhelmed, go outside and look at the sky.

25. Don't take pictures, just live in the moment.
