How do I block my grandma from calling me?

My grandma is a widow and has too much time on her hands. so she calls me like every week to check up on me! it's so annoying. why can my grandma be cool and just buy me beer or something. anyways I need to block her because I don't want my friends thinking I'm a loser grandma's boy.

I think that's really mean of you. You're grandma loves you and just wants to check in to see how her grandson is doing. The poor woman is probably lonely and just wants someone to talk to.

Both of my grandmas have passed and I would give anything to be able to talk to them again. I think you need to learn to appreciate your grandma more.

You are very very selfish to not want to talk to your grandma. It's very hard to lose a spouse I'm sure, she is probably really sad and lonely and talking to you is probably the highlight of her day.

As a woman, if my boyfriend took the time for his grandma then I would be very happy and it would make me like him more. by the way my boyfriend does make the time for his grandma, he has her on facebook and always talks to her.

Thanks for MHO! I hope you now see that your grandma is simply probably just lonely. If she is calling you excessively (ie. all the time everyday) then perhaps talk to your parents. Maybe your family can arrange to have regular visits with grandma so that she isn't so lonely. Even including her in activities can help ease the loneliness she might feel as a widow.

Are you trolling? I can't tell. If you're not, who cares what your friends think? If they make fun of you turn it into something positive - brag about your grandma in an over-exaggerated way or tell them something awesome she did. Make sure they know that YOU care about HER and YOU are helping HER out by talking to her. Even if she is calling to make sure you washed or underwear or whatever, your friends don't need to know that. Spin it around to the opposite - She's lonely and you taking the time to listen to her *is* a help to her. If you can manage to take control of the situation, your friends will most likely back down. And really, who the hell makes fun of someone for having a good relationship with their grandma?

I take care of the elderly for a living and I see how a phone call can really make their day because a majority of them are lonely.

That's really cold blooded my friend, one of my grandmothers is also a widow but instead of ignoring her I help her do errands, garden for her, I take her out to lunch and just spend time and chat with her.

How would you feel if your own grandchildren blocked you? say after your wife died? it probably wouldn't feel to great, spend time with her while you can because the time you have left may not be much. And once she is gone you will regret not spending any time with her.

And besides her calling once a week really isn't that bad that's hardly anything.

That's not nice. Who cares what your friends think? If they have a problem with you being a "loser grandma's boy" then they aren't very good friends to begin with. Your grandmother cals you because she loves you. My grandmother doesn't do that for me nor does my grandfather. Be grateful, not hateful.

i'm 13 and i live in the same city as my grandma and i visit her everyday, because i love her. i'm really happy when i visit her and it's obvious that she is too, so your grandma calls you because she loves you. and really you are a jerk if you don't want to talk to her. just remember that soon you won't get the chance to talk to her when you'll want (or need) to.
