Why can't my ex stop talking to me?

So we had a bad break up, but I'm the type of person who is easy going enough to be able to stay friends with even after everything. Well I asked him if he could stop talking to me so I could get over him. He told me that he couldn't. Then a couple of hours later told me that he'd stop talking to me if that's what I really wanted, well it wasn't so I told him that I didn't want him to stop. Well a week or so passes and he starts talking to this new girl on myspace (she actually lives in California, we live in Virginia). So I asked him about it, because I felt like I had the right to know about her especially since we've been talking intimate still. Well he blew up on me and said that he was single and that he didn't want a girlfriend and everything and that she was just a "real good friend." so I told him to have fun with his internet relationship and his internet girlfriend. Well long story short, he told me that he was going to stop talking to me since I told him that he always pisses me off. I didn't respond back. Not even three hours later he texts me saying "you know I can't stop talking to you, so yeah. if you don't like it deal with it because I'm still gonna talk to you whether you like it or not :p so deal with it."

His hostile voice isn't meant meanly, we fight a lot and I guess we just feel comfortable talking to each other like that. So I don't know what his intentions are. I asked him and he said that he likes talking to me. But I'd really like to know other peoples opinions on what his intentions are :(

well then it is time you cut him off for good.at least for awhile. guys like that need to be snapped into reality and the only way to do that is the hard way. don't let him drag you around because he is trying to go out and do what he wants with you as his back up girl. the truth is he probably cares about you way more then these other girls but he is taking advantage of you right now. If you wanna put him in check then do what I said about cutting contact. After he realizes you are gone and totally done with him it will drive him crazy and he will become an absolute mess for you. this will in time change him into the man you want him to be and in the future he will think twice before doing this to you. if you have the patience and will to do this it will work like a charm. I suggest at least staying broken up one month for every year you dated.

well obviously he still cares deeply for you. and if you don't mind telling me what the terms of the break up are that would help? but I know he still wan ts to be together with you and he is acting out right now to try and cover his pain. chances are this girl in california means nothing to him and he is trying to make you jealous. you probably gave him just what he wanted wen you asked him about her. by trying to make you jealous he thinks you will get scared he is gonna get with other girls then ull come running back. if you really want this relationship to be over then friends won't work right away. you need to cut off contact with him completely and allow you both time to think clearly. then go from there

He's a flirt, and loves attention. So he talked to a lot of girls on myspace. And even told one of them that we were about to break up. He does mean what he says to them, because his intentions are to get their reactions. I broke up with him and he begged me to come back but I wouldn't. And now he claims he wants to be single but he still drags me around.
