Why is my best friend such an attention whore?

I can never feel good with my friend around. If I post a picture she has to post one the same day but more provocative and has to make sure she gets more likes. I'll post a picture in our group chat to ask if its alright and if everyone likes it SHE has to post one in the gc right after i do. She always needs the spotlight on her and its starting to get really old. If I'm going through a rough time and tell my friends for support she all of a sudden is too and starts crying so everyone comforts her. If i tell a story she cuts me off and starts telling her own. I honestly just think she's an attention seeking bitch like god forbid someone pays someone other than her attention its so annoying. She sees everything as a competition and its so fucking annoying.

I would be annoyed too if she was truly your friend she wldnt try to compete with you.. instead let you do your thing and in her time do hers but the fact she doesn't right after you is not cool. If you really want to continue being her friend than let her know how you feel and ask her why she does that but if you dnt see your friendship going anywhere than move on if she is willing to compete with you on everything and you get a boyfriend is she going to try and steal him too? I don't know just a thought

Ahhhh I know that feel. I know someone who is like that. How to deal with them? Don't give them what they want most: attention.

You can't get others to give her no attention but you can certainly ignore what she does. It gets to a point where you just get a good laugh out of their desperation for attention
