I totally disagree. If you have a strong willed girl / guy in the friendship and you're not looking for love. Then why should there be a sexual stigma attached. True some due fall for each other , but that does not stand for all.
It's only a matter of time... Say you both get drunk one night and things happen. Or one of you confided in the other over a break up or cheating and then things happen in that moment of weakness or say other things happen. One becomes unhappy in their relationship and clings to you. Things happen. Strong will or not.

Some times they can be close friends, but commonly, at some point, for many guys, there needs to be choice made: Do I choose to be a just a friend, or try to make it a bf/gf relationship. I have good female friends, that I have directly chosen to keep it at a friend level, because it would be destructive to do otherwise. The friendship is more important to me. The same thing if I'm in a relationship, I don't want to ruin my relationship with my girl, and ruin a good friendship with a friend. It's nicer to have both.
