Why does my grandmother hate me?

Ever since I was around the age 12, my grandmother started to get real disrespectful towards me. If I would stand up for myself I would be considered disrespectful for talking back. She could spit in my face purposely and if I said anything I would be slapped for being rude. She’d talk about me in a negative way loud and proudly in front of everyone and she’d talk about me loud and proudly in front of my own face. She wants me to worship her and praise her all the time. I tried to kill my self a couple of times because of her nonsense. My mother won’t help me because she loves her mom to much to say anything to her. My father tries to help but there’s not much he could do because he doesn’t have full custody. Any advice?

Don't you let her treat you that way. You are your own person, your Grandmother doesn't hate you she just never apparently learned how to treat another person in the family, or she could also just be going crazier in old age.

There's a different between respecting your elders and worshiping the ground they walk on because of their several lives worth of existence over others. I agree that we should always respect our elders, but our elders should also respect us, especially those in our own family.

You need to talk with her and tell her how you feel and that you feel she doesn't respect you and is rude. Maybe that's just how she's been all her life and just doesn't know any better, sounds crazy but I've heard crazier. If she refuses to acknowledge her poor behavior, you let her know you won't tolerate it, you're almost an adult and expect to be treated like one.
