Anyone ever had such thoughts about both or one of their parents?

Good question, thank you for asking it.
To be honest yes, although I admit that when I actively disliked him, it was more due to resentment than anything.
Now I do respect him like a son should respect a father, but I admit that aside from some things, I try to look more like my grandfather than him - who was more gregarious, traditional, and more stable than my father is.

While my father has little of me and my grandfather's appearance and personality. He's the odd man out of us.

My daughters feel the same way every day until they want something from me.
I'm not here to be their friend but their father.
There are all kinds of fathers.
Some are awesome, some are diabolical.
It doesn't matter if you like him. Always treat your father and mother with respect.
Doesn't mean you have to agter with them but you still need to treat them with respect.

Kids never like their parents because parents give orders and expect a lot from their children. We just want our children to have a better life than us. We want our kids to be successful and prosper.

Every child goes through it.
Well, something that can't be changed is that they are your parents and have done a lot in upbringing you and there is no way you can pay for it.
Yes parents wouldn't agree to a lot of things because we want them to look at it from where you stand, but we fail to put ourselves on their side to understand why they disagree.

No offense to anyone, I never liked my father till the time I started to understand his side of the view.
