What do you think of cutting out your adult child out of your life if they are toxic or abusive?

I see a lot of people say to cut out family members that are toxic or abusive but I wonder if people just think this is for siblings cousins or parents. It seems different when it is your own child but what if they were true terrors? What if they grew up in a decent home but for some reason or another they grow up to be horrible. I have heard of adult children be physical with their parents push the down stairs and be really really bad where if it was anyone else they would be cut off. I`m curious what others think because I don't see this topic discussed.

Actually I know one case. Believe me, years went by before such a decision had to be taken (police, psy, etc.). The boy became really dangerous for the safety of all persons around him because he seemed never aware of consequences. Sure enough the drugs he took and his stupid criminal behaviour didn't help. I'm not allowed to give details. It's a sad story. No father or mother wants this to happen.

Please do what’s best for you, don’t listen to anyone else because most people will give you toxic advice… Its not worth your self respect or mental health to keep toxic people in your life. It doesn’t matter who it is.. that’s what I believe.

Well I could never give up on my kids if that was the case I'm glad that it's not but that comes from the adult they should have put a stop to it when the kid was younger

No, I’m talking about a child with normal loving parents that still grew up to be an evil or toxic person. It happens.

I don't believe it. I firmly believe those cases are stolen or adopted or transgendered children. Or, at the very least, severely abused (like I was by my transgender forsterparents - both of whom keep insisting how we are very close and in love, whilst they try to steal money from me, for which I have told them and the police, that I will shoot them on sight in self defense, if they get near me)
