During the year if the pandemic, I joined some online meetup grouos to overcome the boredom of not being able to go to many places. I also moved to a new state and wanted to make friends, and also, I like leanring new languages so I joined a group to learn one.
There was an in persn meetup where we met with masks, and I met some members. We all exchanged facebook accounts. From then on we continued to meet online and sometimes at places. I did go to some of these outings, mostly for tea and ice cream, etc. I even had a get together at my house, a hosting as they called it.
there was a member there who instantly took a liking to me the first time we all met, and was friendly, etc. This is a 31 yr old college student who had just finished college. He helped me with some things I had to have moved to my new apartment and as a thank you I offered him lunch, which he was thankful for. Another time he was bored and messaged me on FB messenger, asking if I wanted to join him in town.
Long story short: My life has been busier since I moveed, and I rarely attend those online meetings. The last one was in December. He has been complaining to me all along for a year now, that I never attend the meets and texts me very often on messenger, asking if I am alright. He also says he misses me and wants to see me. I am thinking--either he is very lonely--and wants to continue this friendship, or he wants something more than just friendship. He is an introvert but seems almost demanding in wanting to see me now. I have now blocked him on FB.
