My dad continues to be a bad husband and father. Why do you think my mom wants to help him again now that he's sick? Do you think this is right?

She definitely doesn't love him at all. I have 5 siblings, and they all think my dad has been a bad person although my older bro and I (2nd oldest) give him some credit because we do believe he cared and still cares about us. I know some of you might be wondering why they had 6 kids together. I wonder too. My mom said she stayed together for the kids and they just so happened to get busy.

My sister actually thinks he's the worst person she knows. He mentally and physically abused all of us, but my parents immigrated to the US poor, and he did work 85 hours per week to put food on the table. I know that doesn't justify cheating on my mom and all the other bad things, but what do you think? He doesn't have a criminal record, but he easily could have one. On a scale of 1-10, if the most evil people ever are a 10, I'd say my dad is only like a 7, so it's bad but he wouldn't ever murder anybody or anything like that.

I don't know if my mom is helping because she believe in God, and she thinks that's the right thing to do. Do you think she's right to be helping a man in need? Do you think she's being strong and kind or she's just weak and helping a man who's undeserving and will never be grateful?

They're legally still married but have been separated for 5 years. They still live in the same neighborhood though.
