Do you believe traditional relationships are safer for both the man and the woman age wise?

I read a free digital book on homelessness in America and one of the stories was about a 25-29 year old woman who left the father of her kids for a good looking 17 year old boy and he beat her so bad she had cuts and broken body parts during their relationship and he made enough to support the family but would only share enough with her to prevent her from dying of starvation so he could continue to date her and use her and I heard about a Chinese woman who met a guy over 13 years younger than her on a dating site and he killed her and today I found out that a woman who suffered around 30 years or more of abuse by her husband chose a good looking partner at least 8 or 9 years younger than herself. My mom is 1-3 years older than my dad and has been abusing him through mostly the whole marriage that I remember of the two of them together. I also know MBS abused his wife and I think she is over 11 years older than him.

There are plenty of relationships that stand the rest of time where that doesn't happen. Sometimes you just don't know until you get into it and there are situations where people remain with abuse. I'm not a psychologist.

Why do they stay with such partners?

I think some people are terrified of being alone or greedy for money or unable to work. I also heard a guy say some girls actually lose their abusers cause they are mentally ill.
