My parents used to be lazy cook so we usually got only very easy stuff like potato (mashed, boiled, pomme duchesse, fries), pasta with tomato sauce, beef with butter , roasted chicken, veal meat with cream or ham, gnocchi with ketchup, cordon bleu, croque monsieur, eggs, tuna with rice and mayonnaise. Lots of bread too.
and that was basically all that we were eating. Only vegetables I remember eating is cucumber, tomato, strawberry, banana and apple.
We mostly eat easy things made fast cause my mother hated to cook. And everything was cooked without salt and butter cause my father was forbidden from eating it for his health.
So no I was never forced to eat vegetable except when I was at my grandparents house where I was forced to eat vegetable and seafood which I always eat cause my grandmother is a good cook and make everything taste good.
My parents let me eat whatever I wanted, I used to drink only coke and never water, never eat vegetable and I could eat as much candies and nutella as I wanted.

I was picky as a child. I hated food, but I had to eat whatever was put in front of me. I had a few stand-offs as a child that resulted in spending the night at the table and on one occasion being force fed.
As an adult, I learned that I actually love food (especially vegetables). I taught myself how to cook and figured out that it was the way the food had always been prepared that I didn't like as a child (mushy canned veggies and leathery meat).
I'm no longer picky aside from choosing healthy foods over certain unhealthy foods that I refuse to consume.
My father came from WW2 famine conditions so if I don't eat what's in front of me, I don't get to eat that day. I think he knew firsthand that person won't die from not eating for weeks on end. So you eat it or you don't. He's not gonna let you die but if you don't wanna eat what's in front of you then you don't eat. Simple as that.
I had to eat whatever we had at home, because we didn't have a lot of money.
That changed as soon as I started earning my own income.
I'm now very picky about what I eat, because now that I can afford it I only want the best stuff, not the bland rice and chicken that always depressed me at home.

Well firstly I’m not a picky eater although I stick to a special diet. When I’m not on one I like everything tbh.
Secondly my family made sure to feed me most ‘healthy’ things such as broccoli, hummus, as well usual stuff most kids hate and limit junk food.
Did it work? It did in the sense I like most hated foods but didn’t in the sense I still like junk foodCouldn't eat what i wanted, lmao.
My mom was strict af (no high fructose corn syrup, no caffeine, rarely had juice and when we did it was in a smallass "fruit cup").
When my dad was in charge he let us eat "cool" food.
You said she only gives it to them when they eat out. Doesn't sound bad.- u
do they really eat tacos every single day... seven days of the week, 365 days a year? lol
They used to make me sit at the table until I ate whatever disgusting thing they put in front of me. Naturally I refused and I would sit there until it was my bedtime and go to bed hungry. Looking back the whole thing gave me character.
Does your sister at least put seasoning on the meat?
We were very poor. We ate anything we got.
