Can a woman ever lack good social skills too?

I used to have few friends in HS and would hang out with the same small crowd. For some reason I'll never know why one guy in my AP history class really hated my guts. This wasn't a case of someone having a crush on me. Nope. He hated me. I hated him back too.

Then again I used to tell the same jokes to people, some of my conversations were awkward (sometimes I just didn't know what else to say and would come up with random topics, wanted to fit in or was shy) and was unable to distinguish a real friend vs an acquaintance just being polite to not hurt me. One girl actually told me in private ''You're suffocating me''.

I believe my social skills improved as the years went back. I wasn't a natural. Can a woman ever have real bad social skills too?

I'm now 35 and my social skills improved in my 30's. During my 20's, I still had very few friends and was rarely invited to parties.

Yes and usually they are very introverted…. “Shy”/traumatized by life event. Gentle hands required.

Even though I'm now in my 2nd relationship (my first one failed so miserably), I was never asked out in HS and neither of my crushes liked me back. I don't mean to boast but I had hit my prime a bit earlier than usual (ex: when I was 12, I looked 16-17 already) and just to get hit on by random men outside. Yet, none in my classes asked me out.

Yes, typically people who have autism are lacking in social skills.

I'm assuming it must be a mild case of autism in my case. I had a good GPA in high school, still graduated from school, lost my virginity at 19 and I'm in currently in my 2nd relationship where we both want kids.

If it was that bad then I wouldn't even be able to finish college nor work.

I know that but it always seems like people pay too much attention to a man's social skills than a woman's. I was never pressured nor forced to talk to people; whereas my younger brother has been placed on a social program; my parents never did that for me when I was much younger. That's something I wanted to improve at and I did at a much older age.

Strangely I started improving my social skills later on in life. Then after my 1st relationship ended so miserably (I ended upon finding out he scammed me for years), I suddenly develop more knowledge, more topics and I become better.

Yes, social skill are developed with practice.
But not all skill are developed solely with engaging with others, patience, self control can be developed outside of social settings, as one example.

But I do recommend engaging with strangers as practice. Making friends is best practice.
