Why can't I have a normal life?

My parents had taken my phone away for almost 3 months and recently I started using Snapchat on my computer to text my friends. There was this guy who I met and he asked for my snap and I gave it to him. He asked me if I could link with him and I said sure, not for a long time because I didn’t want my parents to catch me with my friend. So I snuck out. My parents don’t allow me to hang out with friends. I ended up staying with my friend for 3 hours and when I got home I was immediately beaten with a stick and my step mom started punching me and slapping me. Then they called the cops and I talked to them and they told my parents that they were abusing me and that I have a life because I’m 14 and usually teenagers are rebels especially when they don’t have good relationships with parents. My parents are now telling me that I should move out (since I want to be like “other kids”. I don’t know what to do but one of my fingers is broken and swollen because of the beating I got. Pls help me.

Do you have an aunt or uncle that you could move in with? They clearly are abusing you. I went through very much the same thing at 13 my mother and sister that is 5 years older than me beat me everyday, luckily I was able to move in with my uncle. Where do your parents want you to move to? You're 14 not like you can just rent an apartment. Please talk with your relatives and school counselor about what's going on. I can totally sympathize with what you are going through.

I live in Canada but my parents want me to move back home and I was sexually assaulted by my uncle so I don’t feel comfortable moving. I just really want to be like a normal kid but my parents won’t let me.

I had a similar sentiment growing up. I hated life and I got kicked out and as much as I liked being out of the house being homeless as a teenager SUCKS. I would bite the bullet and just try to survive until you can get a job and/or move out.

You're probably going to be a bit fucked up from parents like that, but once you're out you can start to heal and enjoy things properly.

They will not do it. Believe me. I am 28 and I have similar parents. They don't listen to me and they don't care my life. So you just need be good and carefully. This is your life, yes. But I believe, you will be a strong woman one day
