If you have no money or less income, is it true your friends and family will start disrespecting you?

Looks like even your own biological mother never misses the opportunity to call you broke, incapable and worthless.

I just graduated and need some time to explore myself.

My mom makes me do ALL chores everyday yet still insults me that you are living off our money.

This is her behavior since i was a 6 year old kid.

But at the same time she wants me to take care of her when she will enter old age.

She didn't even spent a penny on me, only my father is supporting me as they only never let me leave home or get a job when I wanted to at the age of 15.

So I'm just working for a few months until I'm competent enough to join real world jobs.

What kind of a world do we live in?

It's not even been a few days after my internship ended and I'm being insulted like this.

To an extent, sure. Having or not having money changes how we view things.

Living off of the interest of your assets and portfolio? What a fantastic life!
Doing nothing and living off of government support? Loser.

Effectively they are doing the same thing and contributing equal amounts. Leeching on the work of others. One we view favorably, one not. Money being the only real difference. Can vs must.

Mine is to explore only for a short time so that I end up on right career path and as a result naturally work hard. I was working for a while but immediately regretted because i was rushed by narc mom. My plan is to start earning money and then keep multiplying my income.

Sensible. Although jumping into a profession to start with is also a way to explore and one generally looked more kindly on.

Making money work for you is indeed a good decision and one that amounts over time. In theory with the 10% increase a year (10.1 is the average over time), putting aside 3% or so for inflation, you'd need about 14 years of salary to completely stop working, or earn a full extra salary. With compound interest that could reasonably be achieved in 7-8 years if you could somehow reinvest your entire paycheck.

That might not be reasonable. However what is clear is that this growth will very quickly begin to outpace most salary increases. And if 7 years won't do it, 15 probably will.

It is a reasonable and not very complicated way to make it. Of course there are faster ways.

I wouldn't say disrespect but at my age I feel people should have a career , well paying job, or at least be in college with a well paid job. Otherwise I don't want to be bothered with them. How much fun can you have with a broke friend's or family member? They will leech off you.
