I have soooo many memories from childhood, but I'll relate one.
The first time my parents took my sister and I camping was when I was quite young, maybe 5. My dad borrowed a tent and some camping gear from a friend and we spent a week in Yosemite.
I was enchanted by the forest.
One day we went to the park's dump (when they still had it). The black bears would come there to forage. Lots of tourists would come to see the bears and take photos. There were a few park rangers to keep an eye on things to make sure that no tourists did anything stupid like approaching the bears or trying to feed them because the bears were wild but acted pretty tame.
Yosemite closed the dumps and ended bear viewings in 1970.
One night, we went to a camp fire gathering led by a ranger who told stories and led people in songs. I still remember a song that he taught us that goes to the tune of Row, Row, Row your Boat. The words are:
Propel, propel, propel your craft
Languidly down the liquid solution
Ecstatically, ecstatically, ecstatically, ecstatically
Life is but an illusion
One night we went to see the Fire Fall. They would pile brush on the top of Half Dome, light it, and push it over the edge to fall down the vertical face. It looked like a waterfall made of fire. They discontinued that in 1968, so I'm privileged to have been able to witness it.
Falling in love.
First and so far only. I miss her…
My mom would make me remember multiplication tables in afternoon. She would hold my hands and demand me to say the multiplication table of X and give me a really serious look. I would recite the table with fear and when I said a wrong one then she would squeeze my hands till they hurt slightly and make me remember that table by lunch like that. By evening when my dad came home, he would ask me the same table as a test and mind you he's super serious with math. He would not give any expression but that's what scared me than anything else. If I said it correct then he'll smile and say good job and if I said it wrong then he'll say in a scary blank voice to study is again and tell him that same evening. He slapped me once for getting the multiplication table wrong and that was the only slap and physical punishment I ever got from him.
Yes I narrated this in the way I felt when I was a kid. Recently my dad asked me about Trigonometry table and I recited it like a poem flawlessly and he said, "Let's get you an ice cream".
It's cool that you willingly wanted to study, I disliked studying a lot those days. I didn't have any favourite subjects then.
I see, that's the reason you liked studying a lot. I have always wanted to go in Music Industry ever since I was of 2 years, mainly as vocalist but puberty ruined my voice bad so for now it's as lyricist and composer.
Thanks for the MHO!
when i was 15 i met a 52 year old man who formed me pretty much... he'd buy me short dresses... got to wear them short and also got me into giving a lot of blowjobs... on a Friday he'd have me give me beer and i'd give him blowjobs all night pretty much... i kind of liked his apartment as it was plush... and i liked wearing the dresses and the make up and quickly liked the things he had me doing... i didn't think it was bad... as he was very friendly about it... and i felt love from him... as he'd take me on a lot of day trips and took me to nice restraunts often... museums and such... but there were a lot of blowjobs and i kind of liked giving them to him.
thank you i spent a lot of time with him

My father and I used to go to minor league baseball games in my hometown. We sat in the first row of general admission seats, about halfway up the stands. We always sat in the same place, and got to know some of the regulars who sat near us. We always stayed to the end of the game, regardless of the score.
I remember one time our local team was way behind in the 8th inning, and most people in the stands left, convinced the team would lose. They made a miraculous comeback and tied the game in the bottom of the ninth inning, sending the game into extra innings. The game ended in the bottom of the 14th inning when our 3rd baseman (I don't remember his name) blasted a homerun into the left field bullpen. My father and I were probably 2 of maybe 500 people who saw the game end.
To this day, I never leave any sporting event until it's officially over... "it ain't over until the fat lady sings".
I was walking my dog named Twist. We had this woven leather leash that acted as a fetch toy. I would hold the latch spinning then letting it go.
It slipped and flung up behind me into a tree. I started climbing and was reaching over to get the leash caught on a branch. I shook the leash it wouldn’t come down so I pulled hard as I could.
As the branch moved behind it was a massive hornet nest & I distinctly remember them pouring out of the bottom. They went right for my face. People nearby hosed me off but I missed like three days of school and my eyes were swollen shut for like a day
My mom grabbed me by the hair and yanked me off a stool and down to the floor because I wouldn't stop crying, because she took my food away, because for OCD reasons I was struggling to eat it.
Later that day, she came into the bathroom while I was actively using the toilet to apologize to me.
I was probably 9 or 10 years old?
It was the only time she's ever physically abused me, and I think she thinks I've forgotten about it. But I haven't. That was the most disturbing day of my life, how could I ever forget about it? It's a weird memory to carry around.
Rainy days... Beautiful weather, raincoat, rainy shoes, laminating books, coming back from school carrying new books and water bottle as it's the beginning of the school year...
Also, ice cream. My brother eating my sister's share if you ice cream and trying to hide (failing at it) by trying to lie that he didn't do it but his cute mischievous smile gave him away, lol.
I've got more but you asked for one. I still share two so I'll stop 🤣
I have two - 7-10 years old. My father fighting with my mother is my earliest memory standing at our front door pointing at me yelling at mum “ I will not love her , or pay child support for her until you prove she is mine” .
At that same age bracket - my mum having numerous men over and going through relationship after relationship, and none staying around. I remember thinking it was my fault and blaming myself for being born as to why mum was never happy.
Sorry I didn’t mean to make you upset. Unfortunately it shows in relationships now what I took from that , but I will find peace 🙂
I'm trying really hard to actually pick out a specific good memory all the ones that tends to stand out are the bad ones. I think when I didn't see my dad for a month or so and I finally saw him again, I sprinted down the hill and jumped into his arms I was so overjoyed to see him I almost knocked him backwards I was 7 at the time and missed him terribly.
I remember when I was little, I stayed at my grandma's house all the time and she used to make me tuna fish sandwiches for lunch with miracle whip and give me a pickle on the side and a glass of Hawiian punch.
The Price is right would be on usually. On Saturdays, it would be cartoons, like the Muppet babies and Chip and Dale. I loved staying with my Grandma. She made the best chocolate chip cookies!
A vivid memory I don’t think I will ever forget was when I got my first baby chick at the age of 7.
She was a tiny little thing and I named her Chicky. One day I was running around in my sandals not watching where I was stepping. I ran outside and inside because I was playing a make believe game. I didn’t notice that chicky was in front of me.
I sadly stepped on my baby chick. I remember that right after I cried and cried, wishing with all my heart that the baby chick was alive. It was stupid to wish something like that.
After that day I never ran around outside or inside. I never played imaginary games and always watched where I stepped.
My sister had yelled at me for becoming an evil killer. I don’t think I will ever live that moment down.
To this day I still wish I hadn’t done that. I don’t believe people will ever understand how horrible it feels to be responsible of a death of a pet you truly loved.
I had an almost idyllic childhood. From ages 3-7 I lived in a cul-de-sac suburban neighborhood where there were about 4 other families with kids my age. As we all played together, our parents became friendly and we became a very tight-knit community. I remember I had so many happy memories playing there. Playing in the rain in our bathing suits, going under the bridge out of the neighborhood and using limestone to draw on the concrete walls, tadpole hunting, corkboat racing, there was a creek that surrounded the neighborhood that had a swimming hole about 5 feet deep, which was huge for kids our age. I remember finding birds nests in tree knot holes, spending winters building the biggest snowmen we could, playing in the leaves, so many themed birthday parties. I think that childhood is part of why I so readily believed everything I saw on tv. All those kids had friends just like I did, I had no idea it wasn’t the norm.
I remember kissing Margie Chesser on the lips in third grade.
It was my birthday and I was outside playing and saw my mom coming home from work and she came smiling telling me happy birthday and picked me up in her arms hugged and kissed me.
That has vividly stayed with me til this day.
Going camping at Garden State Park with my mom's family like her brother's and my grandpa. We would rent a cabin and stay like week and go swimming in the river and cook outside. I remember one time it was raining hard and my mom had gave our tent to her sister and her family. We had to sleep in the my dad's truck and it was hot and uncomfortable and must have rained for hours. I was like 9 years old my brother was six years old. Also you could rent a paddle boat and go across the river for like an hour.
I've completely shut off my childhood lol. I don’t remember a thing. It hurts too much. I had some really blessed moments I have to say but there’s a lot of pain.
It’s okay xxx
💕💕
I remember so much from my childhood. It's probably an autism memory thing :) There's way too many moments to chose one.
Spending summers with my extended family. Back then, both of my parents worked full time. They (particularly my mom) didn’t trust sitters who weren’t family.
When Mom lost her leg in a car accident ( I was 6, and in the backseat )
Have a nice weekend, too :)
Mom meanwhile followed her leg. But overall we're ok. I appreciate your sympathy... Paris.
Glad to 'know' you
Catching and handling my first Massasauga Rattlesnake.
I remember my maternal uncle hugging me before he left for the airport a few years ago.
I remember everything Paris I remember driving around, looking at Christmas lights. I remember everything I did on the face of this earth as a child
Reading my favorite book for the first time during 5th grade.
It was during computer class, but that day were in the woodshop some reason, so we were left to do whatever quietly. It was almost summer and the windows were open, so I could hear the chimes outside, which was really nice. Also, it was in rural Michigan, so it was quiet outside and in May it feels amazing that's warmer outside finally.
I remember clearly one Sunday morning before dawn I heard a scream outside, then in the morning on the way to church I look down and saw blood drops in the stair well, when I looked over the wall to look down to the first floor I saw a dead guy with blood everywhere and people in white hazmats using some weird vacuums sucking up all the blood, I think I was like 6 to 8, I looked like fight and a struggle judging by the blood drops
It looked*
I remember LOTS of them!! So, my childhood, in general.
I'll never forget the time, about 62 years ago... no, wait, that was yesterday.
They're always deleting my perfectly innocent questions, too!! I spent at least 10:00 getting one ready to post the other day and they took it down minutes after I posted it!!
I remember visiting Manali for the first time. I have always loved the mountains and snowfall.
My father telling a 5 year old me that my nanny doesn’t love me no one does.
That sh*t didn’t just hurt that sh*t destroyed me.
I spent a lot of my childhood sleeping due to my rare respiratory illness
I just remember being indoors and taking naps
Probably when I was around 12 going to Disney world, the road-trip there and the whole trip of doing things while there
I was 13 and a girl named Alisha wanted me to smell her gum she was chewing. I leaned in and she kissed me than ran away.
In our neighborhood we had those small green appels in the woods. We put those small appels on a wood and smashed those appels to windows and run away😀
I remember missing out on a lot of things that most kids my age got to do and moving around a lot. Hey Paris this is Shawn or sky do you have any of social media I can text you on? I missed you a lot
Will do thank you Paris I tried to find you but couldn’t after losing my old account.
That was this beautiful moment where my mom and dad jumped out of the car, and they started dancing together with the music blasting and I was in the backseat just watching them
Then I remember, falling asleep in the back seat, and earlier, we passed by the carnival after we got done with we were doing my parents woke me up and take me to the carnival. Yeah fun OK’s road rides it was beautiful.
Meeting my best friend on my fourth birthday.
This wonderful sleep over i had with a group of my female friends when we were 10
Used to get together at aunt's house, and we all cousins play games, talk etc. It's nostalgic.
My parents were part of the "abandoned" parenting style. It blows my mind now but seemed normal at the time. But-
I would go literally 4 or 5 days without seeing either of my parents. They just didn't care.
I've had cancer for 13 years. I've probably heard from them less than 30 times over that time period. And seen them 10 times or so. So they are still rolling with being awful parents lol. I couldn't imagine doing it to my children. That was a real eye opener.
