I watch kids as my job at home and absolutely love what I do. They always have snacks and drinks available when needed. I have potty trained them and have taught them a lot as they have gotten older. They are able to play 24/7 and when it’s a nice day we do go out for a little bit and enjoy it. Since I watch a baby only 3 months old it’s hard to stay out for hours. I take them for 30 minutes in the earlier part of the day and then another 30 minutes in the later part. This one kiddo I started to watch a few month ago has been doing good, but last week never showed up. I had reached out asking if things where okay and still never heard anything. Which isn’t a surprise because this whole they they never communicate with me and show up whenever they want. I ended up asking my aunt today if she heard from them since they are friends. She told me that she said she was doing a trial run at another day care to see if they spent more time outside. I felt like I was doing a good job, but now I’m wondering if I’m not spending enough time out there. Like I said it’s hard with 3 toddlers and one tiny baby, but they still go out a little bit. Appreciate the advice!

It does not mean you did not meet their needs at the day care. It might mean they have gotten bigger and their needs are changing and the parents think a different demographic of care is appropriate for them now. If the new place does not meet their standards, they might come back or somebody else can take their place.
I’ve only watched her for a couple months though so I haven’t watched her that long for her to need a different place. But maybe you’re right
It is very hard with smaller children and a baby but in general kids should be playing oudoors two or three hours a day. When it's very hot, play is best in the earlier part of the day. I'm sure you're doing great, though. It's tough with such a wide range.
Does the baby sleep - you could put the baby in a stroller and sit with the stroller in the shade, while watching the others.
Also - I just wanted to add that I don't know how much outdoor time daycares provide children. I teach kindergarten and our kids only get 30 minutes of outdoor recess. It's not enough.
as long as possible
