How do shy people make friends at work?

I want to know how shy people make friends. I’m curious to know what they think and do.

I don’t have friends at job as I’m shy. No one bothers to try connect with me or talk to me daily to open up , nothing. I cannot approach people and make small talk. I will smile and be nice reply 3 words if someone talks to me but after that they never approach me again and I see them screaming saying a million sentences with someone else.
if someone says something my mind is blank and I don't know what to say back.
it was easy talk to ex boyfriend because since he liked me , he talked back easily to anything I would say and we would connect bond.
but at work no one tries bond with me or pursue me daily to talk like a boyfriend would with me. Or only guys that like you would pursue you as a friend at job? Which is why I have no one pursuing me as a friend daily?

If the people at work don't notice your value they won't try and get to know you, and if you only answer with 3 words I wouldn't go out of my way either..

People need to know and like you to want to be friends, you can't expect people to come running to you if you don't give em something to work with.

I think that’s messed up, it just sounds inconsiderate what you are saying. To me that’s just being rude , I would continue talk to someone even if they replied 3 words. That’s why u continue talking to that perosn til they open up and talk more

I wouldn’t go out of my way speaking to someone that doesn’t like it if you reply with 3 words. They r the type of person I will stay away from.
