Childbirth...Why are some men disgusted by their wives/girlfriends after they have a child?

I've heard a couple of different things about this subject but I want to know why? It's supposed to be an amazing experience for both parties and a blessing, so why have men turned it into something horrifying? It makes women and me for one, scared to mother a child in the future. One of my very good guy friends told me that it made him love his wife even more and nothing had changed except maybe not as much time for each other. Then one of my girl friends said her husband couldn't look at her the same...So... what's the deal? Very curious.

My husband said he has a new respect for me after seeing it happen. He never looked under the sheet because honestly I didn't want him to. I think guys just don't want to see a vagina being stretched wide open with a baby coming out. It isn't a pretty sight. I've delivered 2 kids and helped women give birth. It's not attractive. I can see why guys would be a little freaked out. They get sexual pleasure from there. Seeing a baby coming out kinda takes some sexuality out of it.

I agree, It's pretty horrifying lol. I'm glad to hear that your husband has respect for you and isn't looking at you in a different way, or at least not a bad way. I guess I just heard some really bad stories about men never even wanting to look at there significant other after they had a child and didn't even look! Not everyone is the same tho. That is not true tho. Some women yes, if the baby is huge. But my sis in law is tiny like me and she said there was no difference after. She said everything went back to normal.

Because we're very visual. There is no way to look at her vagina afterward, and nót get the mental image of the kid coming out. That's why I'll be standing at the head of the bed, holding her hand and just looking at her head until it's over.
