Men, what do you think is the cause of murder/suicides in families?

I don't want to hear about guns and gun control, I want to hear about motivations. Is it stress... finances, relational turmoil. It is so often the men I see reported "going nuts" and wiping out families or people. Rarely it seems... is it the women. Why?

I had a quotes book when I was 12 or so. One of the quotes, who I do not remember who to attribute it to, semantically read: "Anyone can survive one big tragedy, it is the thousand small ones that break us.". While I think it is an oversimplification I do believe it to be true more often than false.

Its not that you struggled financially. It isn't that your love interest mocked you. Your friends ditched you. Your home was problematic. A loved one died. Most of us could handle one or two of those. Its that all of them happened. After that things went to shit at work or school. You flunked at your hobby. Your lifeline wasn't avilable And then, some stranger who means nothing to you randomly said "Nice shoes", which you assumed to be ironic, and that broke you.

So very rarely do I think any isolated cause completely fills and overflows the figurative cup but many smaller ones contribute.
And so with that view how do I provide an answer that isn't just playing the middle?

I think it is recurring losses and failures without meaningful success that causes people to break.

Yeah, it's usually depression or having your private live invaded/ruined by them. Or both. I felt like it but all I could do is just moving away, live alone and not talk to them at all. This works too.

Then there's also "honor killing" but that's no part of our culture here.
