Why do people think getting pregnant is an accomplishment?

Hi all, I know this will be a very unpopular question- but it’s something I’ve never understood.

many people I know have had children, and if that’s what they want cool I act happy go to the baby shower give a gift etc. But in the back of my head I don’t get it.

why is it such a celebration to get knocked up? It’s not an accomplishment, and in my opinion very irresponsible- given how the world is changing and things are becoming much more difficult. It’s almost like bringing someone into the world to set them up for failure. Additionally, it requires at least 18 years of time effort energy and dedication- which from what I’ve seen a lot of parents don’t give. It also requires you to basically give up your life, in some cases career, and focus on a crotch goblin.

please help me understand why people think this is an accomplishment or something to be celebrated?

Yea it not hard to get pregnant for young and healthy woman, though it can be hard for older women, also anti-children women had become more common nowadays, and the women who is willing to get pregnant proves that she a real woman, a woman that want children. As for children being a bad thing, no they not, yes it can be hard to raise them, but having a legacy is the main purpose of life, as you not going to live forever, so you need a heir.

Well, it is a very important matter and should be celebrated, and I was happy about it because she was tired of 9 months and the pain of childbirth.

The same thing, when you succeed or graduate from high school, why do you celebrate?

Right but graduations, job promotions, buying a house, etc are different kinds of accomplishments that require hard work and dedication. Getting pregnant requires not taking birth control and allowing a man to ejaculate inside you. It requires no skill, no hard work, no determination. Anyone can do it, ya know?

Don't you know that a pregnant woman must take care of her health and visit a specialist doctor, and this matter alone is expensive?

She also has to bear extra weight, pain, and the difficulty of doing household chores, along with the pain of childbirth.

All of this. You come and tell me why they are celebrating.

You feel jealous because you are not a mother and have not experienced the feeling of motherhood.

I understand where you are coming from- but again these things don’t require any particular skill. There are plenty of women who don’t go to the doctor- which is agree is irresponsible. It is a choice and decision to keep the baby- it’s nothing that is forced. I’m just trying to understand why people think getting knocked up is an accomplishment and good thing given ththe state of the world.

well... you don't know their story. they could have been trying for years for all you know. plus, this is a big chapter in peoples lives, when they become parents and have a child. a big adjustment too. that's why. just because it's not your goal, doesn't mean you should knock others for it. sure, the world sucks, but it's always sucked. and that shouldn't stop you from living the life you want to live and experiences things you want to experience.

Getting pregnant can be hard for some couples. And either way it's a blessing and family/friends should be happy to have a new life entering into the world

Obviously no one has ever loved you enough to where you feel like you wanted a baby... expansion. Expanding love because you have so much to give.

I do not want a child. But I don’t understand how getting pregnant and having a child is an accomplishment. I don’t think laying down and getting splooged in is something any woman can’t do.

I have a baby and never felt like having a baby is an accomplishment. I feel accomplished when I stick to his schedule, able to cook and clean AND take care of the baby etc etc. I feel accomplished keeping him alive. I think you're using the term accomplishment wrong. Unless you're talking about the ones who have babies with successfully rich men 😂
I guess I see where you're coming from now. There are women who were raised to WANT a family and kids. If you don't that's fine. But kids arnt accomplishments their not trophies they're humans you know
