Your friend is not your friend if he/she doesn't respect your choices and your wishes. I am sorry for being a little too straight forward, but I think you deserve to have friends who embrace you and respect you.
Tell him that you find it disrespectful and you don't want a friend who can't respect you. Either you part ways or your friend changes.
Either stop talking to that person because they don't respect you or keep them around for some perspective.

he clearly does not respect you. It's no different than someone who wants to be called by his middle name having someone who will only call him by his first name. It's a sign of disrespect
they either want to tease you or they dont accept you, so you need to find out which one is it, before you can do anything else
He isn't under any obligation to indulge in your delusions.
maybe he's just doing it to annoy you.
