I don’t like my niece get Tiktok?

I have niece from my big sister, because her mom is single mom, i help her to provide her daughter since she was born.

I paid for milk, school. etc
And she is 10 now, and i even put her in the the best Private school in my place, international private school.

But i found out she has Tiktok few days ago, and i told her not to play or get Tiktok or any social media until she is 13.

But her mom defend her, and said how come we forbid her to have tiktok and social media if we are on it, “but we are adult”. That’s what i told her.
Even Tiktok Ceo doesn’t allow his kid to have tiktok, why would we let our kid on tiktok.

I’m upset with how my sister raise her daughter, so i told her if my niece still get tiktok, i wouldn’t pay for her school.

Am i wrong?

The phone is her mom’s old phone, coz i bought her mom new iPhone on her birthday last year. I help her coz i feel sorry to her coz she haa to raise her kid alone. And i live abroad, i just found out it when my other siater sent me screenshoot of my niece account. And i told my big sister not to allow my niece to on tiktok and her answer is disappointing. Ans i told my niece is the same, and the last time she just read my text.

First and foremost make it clear that it's your sister's kid, not your's! Secondly, the reason you are paying for school etc, is for your niece to have it all and be the best there is to be. You also want to be that amazing aunt who loves her so dearly!

I agree with you about tiktok and you have every right to have an opinion but is it worth it, if either your sister or niece ends up, nothing talking to you cause of your demand? Your niece surely knows who pays for it all and everything you do to her and her mum (your sister) wants to become her best friend too... so obviously she will allow her to join tiktok etc. just to satisfy her daughter.

Find a compromise with your sister (if possible) or continue to love your niece the way you do without deciding to much as to what they should do and not. Don't let TikTok ruin your friendship and love for each other.

I pay over than $26k a year for her school, i pay everything about her. Even her expensive toys all from me, her music course, taekwondo outside the school fee who is her mom choose that, i just pay for it. So i think i have right to decide a little thing for her, since i provide her over than 90% since she was born.

And i really hate kids on the social media, i was thinking not to pay her school fee if she doesn’t listen me, and let her mom transfer her to public school. Since she can hadle her kid, she should pay her needs too.

I totally hear you though you sadly don't have the right to decide anything despite paying it all. Did you do it all because of your love for her or other reasons? How is your relationship with your niece? Other than TikTok does she listen to you and treat you with respect? Does your sister do that? I guess it all comes down to what you feel in the end. If you are not being respected and you feel they both don't listen to you and take you for granted, then you should start cutting smaller things such as courses, classes and toys... If your sister doesn't care to listen, how does your niece when you talk to her? Who bought her the phone she watched TikTok on?
