Why is my girlfriend asking me about children?

Second time she's mentioned wanting to have children - not now, she says, but she would like children with me.

I told her that it's what I'd like too, but we'd have to be in a suitable environment (a bigger place, etc...)

Why is she asking me about children?

women have a biological clock different to men. that's why she's asking

time is important for men when it comes to accumulating resources whereas time is important for women when it comes to preserving fertility
