My guy friend remembers everything I tell him?

My guy friend always surprises me at how much he remembers of what I tell him. We've been friends for about 3 months, but he still remembered some of the things I told him in our first conversation. We text a lot, and talk about a ton of random stuff, and when we are together in person or with some other friends, he will say "yeah, (my name) said this and this" or "(my name) did this and this when she was little" so we could laugh about it together. Once, briefly, I told him all the names of my previous kittens (and I lived on a farm so I had a lot) and he remembered all of their names and even what they looked like lol.

Is this normal? None of my other guy friends can do this, and I don't even remember most of what this guy friend tells me (which I feel bad about because he remembers things about me).

He has a good memory. Some people value the little things in friendships, like the conversations that they have with friends, so it makes it easier to remember information since it's something they value in high regard. I am the same, though my memory not as impressive. I remember the absolutely most pointless things that my friends tell me just because those are the memories I treasure. You shouldn't feel bad about it.
