Is it because girls shave legs/thighs but don't shave chest/stomach/back...🤔🤨🙄
I don't understand this.
Can anyone explain this?
I guess because of the stereotype that existed some decades ago...
I see nothing bad with a man shaving, heck some guys are even required to do so (e. g. athletes)
For me it has nothing to do with gender. it has to do with how you feel more comfortable.
For men it's so double standards. If a man shaves everywhere he is " gay/girlie" but if he is all natural and very hairy bodied he is gross gorilla repulsive etc. etc.
I understand what you mean, and the whole concept of it is ridiculous.
A woman "has to" shave, otherwise she is seen as gross, ugly, she's not feminine, doesn't take care of herself, she might even be shamed or laughed upon because of it.
Why? Is she less of a woman if she doesn't shave her legs every 2-3 days? Does the food she cooks taste differently? Is she a worse mom because of it?
And let's not forget that there are also medical reasons why someone might be more or less hairy than the average person.
Genetics too, but that's another story...
Trivial knowledge: the only parts of our body that don't have hair follicles are our palms and soles. Every other inch of our skin is designed by nature to have hair, longer or shorter...
Hmmm. But the " hair" on a woman's body is naturally so so soft fine thin that it isn't even visible from normal distance.
Men are expected to shave their chest, stomach and back... but the same people feel it's girlie to have shaven legs.
It's ironic, isn't it?
My opinion is that you do whatever makes you feel best. Feel good with yourself and tell those people who are quick to judge to get a life and stop messing with yours. 😎
And thanks for MHO! 🙂
I like guys who shave it's not feminine
Nice m me too.
Cause women wear skirts and dresses
Yes, they also wear shorts, and so do we but, generally they wear skirts and dresses and feel it's necessary to shave, to wear them
So when men wear shorts , isn't it nice when they shave legs?
not necessarily
by the way, professional swimmers, do need to shave their legs because hair actually will slow you down
Are you a professional swimmer?
Nah just a common man
Meybe your estrogen levels are a little too high? Girls shave their legs for aesthetic reason, guys (other than professional swimmers) have no need of doing so because it is considered normal for males to not shave their legs, why would we? Its not like we need sikly legs for pantyhoes and such. Or do you look like a gorilla and are insecure about it?

Shaving is not feminine or masculine, it is just dumb society standards.
Well said
What's even more ridiculous is many of those folk who are against shaving any body areas because it's 'unmanly' insist on it with the face, making out that beards look bad or untidy. These expectations can be very specific, and vary from one person to another, giving another reason to reject these expectations besides just the fact they're expectations.
As people have pointed out there can be specific physical reasons for men to shave parts of their bodies, such as swimming, cycling, bodybuilding and tattooing. Quite apart from just personal aesthetic preference.
Incidentally everything I'm saying here applies just as much to women - it's up to each one whether they do or don't shave particular parts of themselves.
Femininity and Masculinity are broad concepts and subject to interpretation and in today's day and age it has become more so. Maybe in the 90's that would've been seen as a female thing to do but now it's what some women prefer because people's views are different. I personally don't see the difference in personality when someone shaves their legs so it's not a factor in determining if someone is feminine or not honestly.
Basically all I'm saying is that femininity is subjective. Plus it's a standard brought about by society. You don't have to listen or follow what it says. Society ain't always right.
Honestly, I'm very sorry, but I can't speak for the rest of society. I personally don't mind whether a guy is clean shaven or not. It's up to him what he does. It doesn't make him any less of a man to get rid of a little unwanted body hair.
That is nice. But i was talking about general social thought
These guys must be driven by girls to shave.
I can't think of any other reason unless it's for medical reasons..
The problem is that once a guy shaves. The hair grows back much worse and courser and spreads more so he would have to do it for years on end!
Hair grows back worse after shaving? Actually? Or myth
I've seen it happen to a number of guys.. Not a myth.. Waxing is better of course
No, it's a myth. If you Google it, there's actual studies that have been done on it.
@Melshmallow046 Yes. Shaving doesn't make hair thicker. It's just that it gives stubbly re-growth that it seems to grow thicker
Various ethnicities don't have a lot of body hair. In my family, my grandma was half Native American so none of my uncles are particularly hairy on their arms or legs. Some Asians are the same way, and that's not even approaching the subject of shaving. I say do whatever makes you feel comfortable in your body. It's not anyone's business if you a hairy wildebeest or a sexy smooth dolphin
It's just a personal preference. I don't like hairy chest or beard, but hairy arms and legs on a guy I consider "normal". I like a happy trail though, that's pretty hot!
That's what I wanna ask. Hairy legs and arms seen as " normal /manly" while shaved chest and stomach is seen as " normal".
I don't have that problem but if I did then I would prefer to wax my chest and arms and back.
I think it's as bad as a woman who doesn't trim.
A man does not need to be bare like a woman but you know at least trim man. Like trimming a beard.
Men are viewed as hairy creatures, and are not supposed to shave because of how hairy they were in the cave man days. Not my personal opinion, but I think that's why it is viewed as feminine if men shave. I think it's all a matter of preference and grooming.
I guess gone are the cave era days. And even back then girls didn't shave either.
So why is men shaving legs girlie /gay...🤔
As a woman, how do you think about guys shaving legs and wearing shorts etc?
If that's what makes him happy then I say go for it.
What's weird is the same people who find it gay/girlie for guys to shave legs actually like men to shave chest and stomach 😷
I love hairy men personally. But I’m sure there are plenty of women out there who don’t mind hairless men. It’s a matter of personal preference and doesn’t mean you are gay or look gay.
Do you like hairy chest and stomach as well?
The more hairy the better!
I shave my legs and arms, always have. I'm a keen cyclist and (along with the bike, custom helmet etc) clean shaven legs helps to eliminate drag and improve my performance. Yes it's only marginal, but every little counts
I think its pretty normal now. I notice a lot of guys with shaved arms and legs. I do sometimes. I dont like body hair
Same here
Real men have hair...
Lol.
But I don't care what guys do, not my business.
That's bulshit to say
But why do " real men_" have hair on legs but shaved chest?
Naaaa dude. Chill
Its based on the antiquated notion that "men"should worry about putting food on the table and "women" should worry about looking good while preparing the food that the "man" "puts on the table".
Just crazy , unless your an olympic swimmer !
Men dont need to be smooth like a woman , they are supposed to be rough and and sexy.
But rough chest and stomach isn't sexy and manly... it is preferred shaved. Why not legs
Maybe your chest, stomach and legs aren't much hairy to begin with?
Actually many guy swimmers shave because it reduces drag in the water. So it's not really feminine.
Stupid society standards
Exactly
I like the perfect you😎
I don't get you.
?
I just shave my penis area and that's it.
Do you have hairy chest?
That's lucky!! If you had really very hairy chest and stomach , legs and thighs am sure even you would be shaving those
