I think it looks innovative, but also very space cadet... and fragile. Will it scratch up like stainless refrigerators?

It looks futuristic for the sake of futuristic, not for any actual legitimate purpose.
The lines on it look like someone who doesn't work with cars was trying to make a car more aerodynamic, except every performance car designer in the world would have something to say about that. Or someone who doesn't work with actual military or armored vehicles designed it to be durable even though it's evidently not.
I don't think "stupid gimmick" adequately summarizes what I think of it, though for what it's work, Elon Musk claims that there are 148,000 pre-orders. Personally I find this very hard to believe unless the majority of them are corporate purchases by investors.
It looks like a prop that's escaped from a bad cheesy 80's Sci-Fi flick, also that is been designed to be cheaply produced all flat and minimum number of panels with expensive curved areas. Of course there will be Tesla fans who'll love it no matter the sticker price but if it hit the market at a sub £20k price point with a normal style dash and the minimum flashy tech that is usually the cause of things going wrong. I'd give one some thought. If Musk is thinking about a sticker price of a 3 for one of these I doubt he'll have many takers.
Thought it was ugly while I like the idea of making the body the structural element replacing the frame I doubt it has any chance of replacing a gas powered vehicle. Actual work tricks get tons of miles pulling weight. An electric vehicle can’t deal with that and I notice none of the promotional materials covers anything but meaningless flair.

I admire musk for he is the ultimate CEO troll. That truck can't possibly be the final draft cmon look at it. Just a PR stunt to get attention to his vehicles i reckon. I cheer musk on his efforts of venture capitalism are amazing as well as making electric cars more mainstream.

That looks like one of those aerodynamic blunders like the Ranchero where while driving the contents in the bed would be sucked out. And speaking of suck, I have to say that does. Nope, so far my best “chick magnet” is driving a pile of $hit.

It's a truck kiddo. It's supposed to be used to haul, carry cargo, and go off road. Only people who race trucks are losers who can't think beyond their nose or too cheap to buy a proper sports car.

Are any trucks chick magnets... if I was buying a truck it wouldn't have been in my buying process... mine would involve size and sound so I'd buy either an F250, an Escalade FXT or a Viper Hemi engined RAM
