Do you need to wear at least socks in someone else's house?

I often find myself barefoot in some people's house because they have a no shoe rule. The thing is that I very rarely wear socks and always find myself totally barefoot.
People never tell me anything but I don't know if they find this inappropriate.
Do you think I should always wear socks when I plan to be invited or it's just fine like this?
The thing is that I avoid socks and really hate wearing something else than sandals in summer.

It seems simple enough to just take a pair with you when you are going to visit them. Bare feet will soil carpets.

I like to wear sandals as well.
But sometimes I keep an extra pair of socks in the car just in case.

If someone has a no-shoes rule then they need to be comfortable with a visitor being barefoot, since that's likely.

Some may have socks or house slippers for visitors but that's generally because the visitor doesn't like being barefoot.

In the summer I won't even have sandals on. I go barefoot all summer.

You're totally fine barefoot as far the the person whose house it is is concerned. Open question as to whether YOU feel comfortable in bare feet.
