Girls, Should I start wearing an earring?

Can it look tasteful if a quiet polite guy with glasses also wears an earring? I'm bashful and slightly quirky but also like jewelry. I wanted to do this since I was a kid but grew up with parents that wouldn't allow it. If I did it I'd want something like a plain gold stud or a tiny gemstone stud (Emerald green is my favorite color and Ruby is my birthstone).

Earrings can be very tasteful and attractive on men. As one of my fellow women said though take care with stereotypes. Also something women learn very early is how colors look on you personally. You are talking red and green very bold colors. Even gold is more striking than silver or platinum. I personally think jewelry on men should be subtle yet make an impact. This answer is awesome and encouraging. That is my goal is to be subtle yet make an impact at the same time. I have almost olive skin, brown hair, and hazel almost green eyes that's why I'm leaning toward gold and colored gems. I just think it would look nice as long as it's small. Thank you.

My suggestion would be the off gems like aquamarine of topaz but I'd have to see color for a true opinion

Ohhh I never thought of blue stones. I think I could picture a blue topaz. Would a plain gold ball be a subtle way to start?

It is all about what you want to do. It shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks. If you want to wear an earring then do it. The only one whose opinion matters on what you wear is you. And anyone who is with you should just accept you for who you are.

Meh, if you think an earring is what makes a difference to a woman, its kind of deluded.
Also just be careful since it used to be the norm that gay men used to wear the one earring, so be careful of that stereotype...
