World's population is 7.6 billion people. Historically speaking, beauty standards tend to be different from time to time, place to place and different cultures.
They also depend on each individual's preferences. Some people might prefer darker skinned, curvier, more androgynous, lighter skinned people, people with softer features etc.

Why do some people not understand this and think everyone must share the same opinion with them?

Ignorance, it is the answer to most of the problems there are in modern society.
I agree totally with you, beauty standards and preferences are not objective and they depend on the context each one live in, on the cultural level, the mindset, family, religion… there are so many factor affecting the standards!
