Girls, Have you ever heard of wearing powder or a neutral eyeshadow under your lipstick?

I was buying some makeup the other day, and mentioned that I was having a little problem with my lipstick feathering a bit. The sales lady proceeded to ask me if I used a liner? I said, "Yes." She then said that she had learned a tip. The tip is to put either powder or eyeshadow under you lipstick. Was she just trying to sell me a product, or will this work? Thanks.

It could work but keep in mind that ingredients in eyeshadow or powder is made differently than what's made to be on your lips. Lipsticks/glosses/liners are made with ingredients that are safe in case any gets in your mouth, meanwhile the eyeshadow/powder isn't.
