I have never been satisfied with the way I look for many years. How can I gain some self esteem and self confidence?

At my next consultation with the orthodontist I would like to tell them I want to go through with the orthodontic surgery. I get a rebate since the surgery for me is considered medical and not cosmetic. I don’t want to tell you where I live but 75 percent of the cost will be covered by the government.
Hopefully this will improve my self esteem.

Hey I had crooked teeth till I was 26. It helps your self image immensely. Good for you! If I may make a recommendation. Keep on your appliance (retainer) after you get your braces off. I didn't take it that serious and my teeth shifted a bit. They're nowhere near as bad as they were originally. But why spend a that money just to allow your teeth to move back. Most people after six months or so can get away with just wearing it when you sleep.

Usually the cause of low self esteem is because people always pointed out the flaws of other people. Sometimes it is also caused because they value people's opinions way too much.

I think the main thing that caused my low self esteem is when I have seen many both offline and online other females prettier than me.

You should never compare yourself to anyone. Most women think they are not pretty because they compare themselves to other women. Love yourself for who you are. Stop putting yourself down

I have been called ugly by other people in my life but rarely.
I think the main thing that has caused my low self esteem over the years is seeing other females both offline and online who I thought were better looking than me and more photogenic than me.

With me it's not about looks. It's about what is inside that counts. It's the person's heart and personality that counts. The only thing on the outside that matters to me are her eyes and smile.

This makes me feel insecure. Seeing my misaligned jaw everyday in the mirror makes me feel insecure. I don’t believe other people realise it as much as me though. Also I have pores on my cheeks and nose but I also think other people don’t realise this as much as me though.
