What your opinion on pale skin?

I'm getting married next year and I'm debating weather or not to tan my skin for the big day. I think fake tan would be a bad idea giving I'd be wearing a very expensive white dress and I've looked at tan bedding but it can increase the chances of skin cancer by 60% so don't really think it's worth it.

My mum tells me not to mess about with myself and that I'm naturally beautiful and should keep it thar way but she's my mother she will always say I'm beautiful even if I had dog shit on my face. She always says pale is interesting and different.

I've always been shamed for being pale by others and it's made me really self conscious about my skin. I've all sorts of comments which really are kinda racist but I'm white so no one cares.

I've been told I'm much prettier with a tan and my partner always prefers me with a tan too

I have pale skin myself. I'm out in the sun ten minutes, I burn! I tried that instant tan myself, and my skin looked orange! I've learned to live with my pale skin. It does make my blue eyes pop out. There's probably not much you can do with your pale skin. If you try to tan, you'll probably burn because most people with pale skin burn.

A tanning bed probably won't make much of a difference, and that instant tan stuff, it doesn't look the same, trust me! Most people I know who used it said they couldn't get it to match their skin tone, no matter how many different ones they tried. Your pale skin makes your eye color pop out, so you could try embracing it.

In the end however you need to be the person you want to be. As a woman living in 2023 you have the ability to change damn near everything about you from your hair color, to complexion, to chest size, to fashion style, height (at least with heels), to look like anything from a hippy girl to a business woman to a beauty Queen and anything in between. I’d say have fun morphing and changing into whomever you feel most comfortable as to who you are and you’re doing it for yourself.

Personally, I think you should embrace your pale skin. You're already beautiful just the way you are, and there's nothing wrong with wanting to keep things natural. If your partner prefers you with a tan, well that's okay, but that shouldn't be the deciding factor in your decision. It's your wedding day, your body, and your choice! So don't worry about what other people think, and do what makes you happy. You can wear makeup or accessorize in other ways that make you feel confident and beautiful. So remember, pale is beautiful, too!

You're not that pale honestly. I'm far more pale in winter months. However, fake tan is definitely an option, it won't rub off on your dress so long as you get it minimum 2 days before the event. On the day when you put on deodorant just follow it up with a light dusting of translucent powder (as well as anywhere else you sweat) to prevent any sweat causing issues.

Alternatively there is body makeup if you get a really good one they are transfer proof and water resistant but obviously more temporary.

Being a 'refrigerator white' guy myself, I have always hated really tan people. To me it looks fake and reminds me of Donald Trump, yes he is more orange than tan, but he thinks he looks good. I think pale alabaster skin is beautiful. I think the actress Amanda Seyfried is gorgeous and she's got pale skin. Beauty is never worth potential death and melanoma is no joke. My vote is rock your natural skin tone and have a beautiful wedding! Plus you're young now, to keep your beautiful skin and stay looking young for decades to come, avoid any UV radiation and don't smoke, the two quickest ways to look 50 when you are still in your 30's.

Real tans are a worse idea because they prematurely age your skin and increase the risk of skin cancer.

I’m very fair skinned but I used to do tanning booths when I was doing wrestling and jiu jitsu/mma. The UV rays would supposedly kill mat fungal infections that can show up on wrestling/martial arts mats. But I regret it because I wonder if gave me wrinkles faster (I still look young but my face has aged)

I would experiment with a few fake spray tans and then see how it looks.

Do not do a fake tan. If you do you might as well get fake boobs and a fake butt and might as well put a mustache on too

Take a few days go on a hike out in the sun you will look gorgeous you'll feel better with a fresh air you get all the stress and anxiety out get a real tan and stay away from the other stuff too especially the mustache

I like pale skin and I think it looks better on some and worse on others. However, that goes with anything in life, as nothing is a "one size fits all" type of thing.

Anyway, you should just be you and take pride in the traits you were born with, since they represent you. I am pale and understand not every girl is into that, but no one really gives a shit at the end of the day. People just care about who you are as a person.

As someone who is a different race, I don't understand the tanning thing. You have to be proud of your skin. No matter what color it is nothing is wrong with it.

My thought is more of an artistic one. If you plan on getting "a tan" (and there are safer ways to do it than roasting under UV), then maybe darken your hair a bit to go with it. Or keep current skin tone with current hair color, as being more concurrent with each other. Congratulations for the happy event, either way! :- )

I prefer pale skin and pale skin is a beauty standard in Asian regions.

If i want to buy a sunscreen with brightening and paling effect, i cannot find any in Germany. Meanwhile Thailand has it in every 7-11. I have to import these products for quite a bigger sum of money.

To me tanning is quite overrated and to me an undesirable effect. Other People can get tanned as much as they want if they want to and i'll respect that. Not gonna talk them out of it.

if you want to be more tan then lay out with the appropriate SPF, but remember that your worth is who you are, not a nuanced appearance. As long as your man is mature, that is.

I'm a redhead, so I avoid the sun entirely or I burn and turn into splotches of freckles. Enjoy your natural color and take heart in knowing your skin won't age so quickly, as it does with tanners.

Do not tan your skin. It's unhealthy and these days is widely considered de classe. I much prefer pale skin. Anyway why are you asking us? There are only two people who get a vote -- you and your fiancee. He gets one vote, you get two.

Fair skin is best for a wedding I think. It will look great with your dress as well. Tanned takes us out of the moment, like a movie that takes you out of it. I am not sure I have seen a bride with a tan actually.

if you want to change something do a minor hair color change to a lighter, warmer blonde but you look great anyhow 😌
