Is it just me or do Black girls never really wear shorts?

I don't know if it's just me but from my experience I never really see Black girls wear shorts. Which seems kind of odd to me because I would actually expect they'd be even MORE likely to wear shorts than White girls, since their skin color provides them with more protection from the sun while many White girls would usually get a sunburn on their legs if they didn't wear sunscreen.

Not to mention they'd look great in shorts since White girls often "fight" to get tan legs, while Black girls have them naturally!

So I don't understand this...

It's just you, Black girls DO wear shorts.

I've seen plenty of black women wearing shorts.

When I still ate out a lot, I used to go to the food court at the mall sometimes, and watch all the people walk by. I'd pay attention to what they were wearing. There were plenty of black women in shorts - more black women than men.

Ah... interesting. My area and your area could be different. Maybe in my area there's some sort of "unspoken stigma" around Black women wearing shorts, while in your area there isn't. Just a guess.

Yes, it might be regional. I live in the Midwest where people tend to dress more casually.

I've lived in ten states, but I don't remember what people wore there. But I know it's not as casual in most of those places.

Midwest huh... I'm from Southern USA. People dress very casually here too, but for some reason only White girls wear shorts. Not Black girls. Lots and lots of White girls in shorts but no Black girls in shorts.

And ten states huh... wow, that's a lot!

Yea, there was a time when I was moving a LOT. I've lived in about 17-18 cities and towns in ten states - north, south, east, west and middle. I got burned out on it. I always felt out of place. Only one place other than where I grew up felt like home.

I wear short, and sometimes 1/4 of cheeks are out. It’s not uncomfortable but It’s uncomfortable because I have children, I feel like I’m disrespecting them. I don’t care what my husband thanks (I care, but all depends on occasion).

In general I'd say do whatever do the fuck you want, fuck what everyone else thinks.

But when you have children... it's a little more complicated than that, haha.

From the perspective of your children, they probably don't want their friends telling them: "Wow dude your mom is HOT! She's wearing those sexy booty shorts that show her butt cheeks..." Small children won't act like this but pre-teens and teenagers DEFINITELY will. So age 9 and below you'd be safe, but ages 10 and up definitely NOT safe, as that's usually when puberty starts...

For your husband, you both are equals, so it shouldn't matter when it's just the two of you... but yeah.

Same thing with dresses... a dress is just sort of a really long shirt, and it feels like I'm wearing nothing, yet I can still go outside... 😅

But I get you. Different comfort levels and everything. Feeling naked is not what everyone likes, haha. 😅

In my area it's mainly hot and humid anyway except for winter, and even winter can be quite hot at times...

So I often like to wear as little clothing as I can, lol. Just my bra and underwear, and as little outerwear as possible. 🤣
