I'm looking to incorporate some 90s-inspired streetwear styles into my modern outfits, but want to avoid looking too dated. The mid-late 90s aesthetic that I like is quite basic and authentic, however updating it with a contemporary twist would be ideal. As someone who aims for a cool, confident look, I was wondering if you had any suggestions on how to blend classic 90s elements with a fresh approach?
For example, when I go out to the mall or in public, what kinds of pieces or details could I incorporate to draw on the laidback 90s vibes without seeming like I just stepped right out of that era? Loose jeans and graphics tees will always be staples, but how could I tweak the fits, fabrics or accessories to make the overall look feel more modern? I want to pay homage to the styles I like from that time period while still looking put together and stylish in today's context. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
For myself personally, I’d rock with a style with a random t shirt of Tupac:

Some black denim jeans:

A figaro necklace, locs shades, and bracelet:

And with some Air Jordan 1:
