The Best and Worst Parts of Having a School Crush

There's something so simultaneously exhilarating and soul-crushing about having a crush on someone, especially in school. These are some of my favorite (and least favorite) parts:

Best - Getting a class together

Whether it be in high school, college, or grades lower, knowing I'd be seeing them every day gave me the motivation to go to class

Worst - Not working up the courage to talk to them

There are those certain crushes you only admire from afar, and somehow never work up the courage to start a conversation

Best - Somehow having a conversation and it actually going well

Isn't it the best when you don't stammer or freeze up like an idiot when talking to them? Even better when one of you makes the other laugh

Worst - Seeing them with other people

Attending the same school means you'll have to painfully witness other people talking and flirting with them, or even worse, them doing it to someone else. God forbid they start dating...

Best - The Butterflies

Passing them by in the halls, getting partnered up, having assigned seating right beside them, all great excuses to get to know each other

Worst - Getting caught staring

It's only fitting that you'd wanna look at them whenever you had the chance, even if it meant possibly getting caught

Depends on two factor... whether he/she is attt=rected to you and how popular (aka objectively attractive) you are. Here's the results:

If he/she is attracted to you, and you're popular, you two will be encouraged to meet with each other.
If he/she is attraced, but you're not popular, one of you will have to somehow get the other alone.
If he/she is NOT attreacted to you, but you are popular, he/she will simply reject you silently.
If he/she is NOT attracted and you are NOT popular, he/she will call either the police or a lynch mob on you.

This is true in adulthood too in Boston because, until menopause anyway, the women here do not mature at all. They are overgrown high school girls that only care about looks.

I had a school crush 3 years ago. She was in a grade below me, but we hanged out every now and then and I eventually developed feelings.

At some point, I started falling in love with some other girl and me and my crush became a bit distant for a while.

Fast forward a year, I broke with that girl, found myself falling back into my crush, and after getting to talk to them regularly and hanging out again, we started basically dating (but neither of us really made it official)

Fast forward another 2 years, we're now with each other properly and I'm so glad for her contribution in my life.

my best friend noticed when I had a crush and set up a truth or dare on a car trip where she had to say if she liked me or not.
she was so blunt, and her smile would have been adorable if I wasn't blushing like mad.
the best part about her is probably that she is cute and she sure as hell knows it.

I had a mild crush on a guy in my seminars and they actually kept teaming us up and we disagreed on everything to the point that my crush on him subsided and now he’s just a hot guy with stupid Marxist opinions to me 😂

a long time ago now, but I had a boyfriend in my final year, never had sex but now aged 46 nearly 47, there on occasions what I have wondered what it would have been like to have had him, and what may have happened afterwards could we have been together right now,
I think I'm of those people that dwell on what I have missed sometimes

Regretting never working up the courage to talk to your crush and always leave you to wonder what could have been. Been out of school for 4 years and I still sometimes think of it lol. One of my few regrets not taking my shot when I probably had a shot.

High school sucks for most people. You have one or two very good looking people that get all the attention and are chased by all boys and girls and the rest of us are invisible and feel ugly
You can't date anyone if you aren't above average because most teens are shallow
It gets so much better when you're out of high school
